See what I did there?
In the first days following what will forever be known throughout BBN as Black Wednesday, there’s been a lot to write about. Unfortunately, it’s not all that optimistic, but like a good group therapy session, we need to lay it all out before we can begin to heal. Group hug, anybody?
The KSR College writers have been hard at work covering Nerlens Noel’s injury, and a few other topics as well. Here’s what you may have missed:
–Reasons to be optimistic about Willie Cauley-Stein? BBN needs them. Brennan English has them.
-John Burke wants to remind us that yes, Nerlens is an athlete, but he’s also a student. Have some perspective.
-Yesterday Coach Cal said this was his first time as a coach losing a key player to a major injury. With that and the other struggles this team has faced so far this season, Tyler Johnson asks “is this Cal’s toughest coaching project yet?”
-“Parity” has been the buzzword of college basketball this season, but does that necessarily translate to a “down” year for college basketball? Derek Johnson makes a pro/con list for the occasion.
-Let’s move on to some football news. Mark Stoops earned his first commitment for the Class of 2014, and it’s Denzel Ware, a defensive end formerly committed to Florida State who looks strikingly like Ron Artest. Nick Roush has the details on Ware here. Caroline Hall also has some highlights here.
-In today’s “Cool Graphics” post, Kory Henry found a map of Kentucky football’s class of 2013 signees by location. Check out
Florida Stoops’ Troops Bay and Ohio especially. STOOOOOOOPS!
-And finally, the women have a basketball game today against South Carolina, and Brennan English wrote you a little preview, which includes a note from UK Hoops player Maegan Conwright (who tore her ACL earlier this season) to Nerlens Noel. If you go tonight at 7 pm at Memorial, wear pink in support of breast cancer. Go Cats.
I love you all. Happy Valentine’s Day. Did someone send me an Edible Arrangement yet?
