Davis, against the man many NBA experts have compared him to. Bet you Tim Duncan is thinking, “I’m not gone yet. Can you not dunk on me for a little while?”

-Kentucky tips off its first basketball exhibition game tonight against Northwood at 7 pm. Andrew Cassady takes a look at these exhibitionists.

A new feature we’ve debuted this week over at is the daily basketball roundup, in which one of our tireless basketball writers sums up the basketball news from the past 24 hours for you. Click to catch up on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and today’s posts. We’re having fun with these, so check them out!

-As many of you make the trek to Rupp Arena tonight, you may recall that a renovation is impending. Nick Roush brings us back to the palatial pictures. Get hyped.

-Need some knowledge bombs to casually drop while watching the game tonight? JC Ausmus has got you covered as usual, with this edition focusing on Kentucky Hall of Famers. Yes, that picture of a boyish Rex Chapman with bangs makes the cut.

-Let’s talk about Missouri for a second. No, not about the game- about the Missouri experience as a part of the SEC tailgate community. Adam Schilt was on hand and wrote about it, taking the time to expand on a few things we saw in his pictures that I posted.

-And finally, late Sunday night Matt wrote a short novel about why Mitch should announce Joker’s looming firing on Monday. Welp, Andrew Cassady doesn’t agree and thinks Mitch did the right thing by waiting- here’s why

I would have loved to seen Joker to succeed here. He is a UK alumni and we love him for that. We love that he came here to coach and we know he wanted to succeed. Joker would have retired here. Maybe he would have succeeded if we were almost equal to the other SEC teams in terms of facilities, so recruiting could have been easier.
Louisville has updated facilities and you can see that their recruiting, lately, has been better. People do not understand how hard it is to recruit, when the kids are looking around, laughing at what we have in Lexington. It took a great recruiter to get the kids we have gotten in the last 2 years. I trully hope we keep Joker, at UK, in some capacity, if he is let go as head coach.
