Iconic Music Videos Want KSR Podcast

Let’s be serious.  The KSR show is the greatest thing ever broadcast over radio or television.  We all know it.  But sometimes, it gets even awesomer when a topic pops up out of nowhere and takes control without warning.  Today was one of those days.  Matt talked about Alex Poythress and Desmond Allison, but then things took a turn in a different direction and we all started debating iconic MTV music videos.  Some of them were groundbreaking (Thriller), some were epic (November Rain), some were a fixture of the time (Smells Like Teen Spirit) and some just made you feel a little tingle in your teenage tummy (Wicked Game).  Regardless, they were a big part of growing up.  Share your favorites below.

Here are five for your consideration:

1.  Sabotage – Beastie Boys

2.  Tonight, Tonight – Smashing Pumpkins

3.  Only Wanna Be With You – Hootie and the Blowfish

4.  California Love – Dr. Dre and 2Pac

5.  Buddy Holly – Weezer

Listen below.

California Love was by 2Pac and Dre. Not Dre and 2Pac. That is hands down the best music video in the past 16 years.

Hey, I love the music from the 90’s, but I missed out on most of the videos – I was out of the house partying on houseboats by then. The videos I remember were from the 80’s – used to hang with my HS buds until 4 AM eating pizza and being Beavis & Butthead before B&B were even around. Some of the ones I remember:

ZZ Top – “Gimmee All You Lovin'” & “T.V. Dinners” (loved the little alien)

George Thorogood – “Bad to the Bone”

Whitesnake – “Here I Go Again” – who can forget Tawny on the hood of that Jag?

Van Halen – “Hot for Teacher” – “Sit down, Waldo!”

Yeah, the music from the 90’s absolutely rocked out, but I guess I missed out on the videos.
