Saw this last night on Deadspin and could not stop laughing. Sometimes I find myself sitting on my couch watching a Bulls game and doing the same thing this woman did to the television every time Noah does something well. Even after all of these years he’s been in the league, there is just something about his face that makes me cringe.

Gotta admit, I don’t really dilike Noah anymore. He plays hard all the time and I respect that. He was unbearable while at UF, but I think he’s come a long way since then. These people obviously have no class. I bet they wouldn’t do that if they saw Noah somewhere that they weren’t protected by security guards, which means they’re complete cowards.

You guys who suddenly “like” and “respect” Noah just because he’s no longer directly in charge of handing UK defeats are pretty weak. This guy is easily in the Top 3 of most hated UK basketball opponents of all time. Heck, Laettner at least has tried to make amends for his discretions by poking fun at himself and willing playing the “heel” at the UK Legends reunions. Noah would come into Rupp Arena, dunk on a pre-schooler, and then beat his chest and pop his jersey even today.

It’s a blowout win and juiced up Paul Simon and 50 year old Cameron Diaz get all crazy. Looks like they both have their mouth open waiting for something. Noah should hit the man to deliver a message to Diaz, but unfortunately can’t.
Only at a basketball game… in Miami. People don’t know how to act down here. I went to the FSU vs. Miami football game here last year wearing a FSU shirt (my GF is an alum) and got flipped off about 50 times. All by girls. It’s like they’ve never been to a sporting event before.

I have mixed feelings about Joakin Noah. I loved the way he played, except when he was playing against Kentucky. I absolutely hated his smart mouth, but looking back, I think this may have been an act. I’ve heard he wasn’t like that once the game was over. I don’t know. Maybe he did have a genuine hatred for Kentucky basketball. Maybe we ought to expect that. we probably are the most hated basketball program in the SEC. After all, most of the other schools in the SEC have lost to Kentucky more than they have any other conference school. I’m reminded of a TV interview Adolph Rupp did in the early ’70s. In it he said, “There was a rumor going around today that I had died. And there was great rejoicing throughout the south!” Rupp knew he was loved in Kentucky, hated elsewhere, embraced that, and thrived on it. That’s part of the legacy he left us.

Noah treated my son and me with class when we were at Rupp and UK had just defeated #1 Florida. He stopped and talked to my 10 yr old son and signed an autograph for him. Ill never forget that and neither will my son who is now in college.
