Even though he’s ranked 8th in the country, at least one NBA scout thinks he’s the top guy around.
“If Stanley Johnson is the eighth-best player in the country, I need to see the first seven. He’s a special performer. He did it when it counted,” the anonymous scout told SNY.tv.
The praise came after Johnson picked up 23 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists in the final game of the Nike Global Challenge yesterday, which his team won, 98-95. He was named Co-MVP of the event alongside Ohio State commit D’Angelo Russell. Johnson came up big in the final game, helping USA West withstand a late rally by USA South.
As a reminder, Johnson is a 6’6″ wing out of California who has offers from almost the entire west coast, as well as Louisville, Syracuse, and Kentucky.
And he can do this.
Johnson will be in Lexington for Big Blue Madness.
