How good is Jahlil Okafor?

Really, really good. Per Adrian Wojnarowski, a “respected NBA executive of 20-plus years (told Wojnarowski) that Chicago’s Jahlil Okafor is the most skilled high school center that he’s ever scouted.”

Not only is that incredibly high praise, but given that it’s being reported by (arguably) the NBA’s most well-connected and reliable writer, it’s a statement to be taken more seriously than your average hyperbolic twitter blast. And, just to jog your memory– the list of players that exec would have seen most likely includes Dwight Howard, Andrew Bynum, Greg Oden, and Tim Duncan, among others. High praise, indeed.

Okafor is currently down at the Peach Jam along with Coach Cal, Kenny Payne, Orlando Antigua, and a bunch of other coaches who can’t pull off Tommy Bahama like Cal can.

    2) that way of thinking is alot of the problem with players UK recruits as our fan support is so huge that when collectively back off a prospect especially as special as tyus jones and jahlil okafor we are leaving Calipari out all on his own and it becomes a self fulfilling profacy and we lose the kid. This kid has shown us love and deserves our respect for being a significant baller. Even with pro duke players, until they are commited they are fair game and could be future greats ala Patrick Patterson.

Being more skilled than Dwight Howard and Greg Oden isn’t unusual. However, if he is more skilled than Duncan that is impressive.

Why is Coach Cal goin after mudiay who could have eligibility issues and not okafor, most skilled center is a while and tyus jones who has been goin crazy on Elbl circuit. I love mudiay but it seems the 2nd option would be much better
