University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

How does this not get you excited for next season?

2012

2012 Mock Draft from nbadraft.net.  All I can say is a T-Jones, Patterson, Hayes trio in Houston would likely make them the favorite team of UK fans.  And Doron Lamb and Jodie Meeks playing the same backcourt would be fantastic as well.  Of course this is so early that it’s silly to even seriously consider this possibility, especially since Wiltjer is going to play so well and get drafted next season too.  But if you think having 5 first round draft picks in 2010 was special, imagine 5 UK guys flirting with the LOTTERY in 1 draft.

I also love the fact that Jones would get drafted 1 spot ahead of his friend Terrence Ross, just further slamming home the point that he made the better decision.

Terrance Ross is not getting drafted that high, ever! If that draft comes true, players will be coming to UK in droves!! Cal would have to beat them off with a stick!

Who the hell gets excited about losing players to the NBA?

Crazy that Rivers and Gilchrist are that low down the list. Next year’s draft is LOADED.

I like Darius to be that 6th first round pick instead of Wiltjer.

Hopefully Darius can work his way into the 2nd round.

No way Wiltjer is one n done.

“But AKA cold buckets,” you say, “that’s what everyone said about Orton and Bledsoe!!”

Orton and Bledsoe were NBA caliber athletes right away. Wiltjer is not nearly athletic enough, yet at least, to be a one n done.

Is sarcasm really that much of a lost art?

Also, it’s cut off the draft board above, but they have Zeller and Henson going 24 and 25. How bad did Ole Roy f*** them over by convincing them to come back? (which he surely did). Henson would be top 10 this year and Zeller would probably be late lottery.

nbadraft.net is universally considered to have absolutely no clue what they are talking about. That mock draft is back assward. Another stellar BTI contribution…

Also also, I’ve been trying to think of an NBA player who’s game is similar to Doron Lamb. Haven’t been able to think of a good comparison. Any ideas?

Be careful wishing for too many UK players on the same team. It may end up to them competing for PT and possibly one losing a roster spot if they play the same position. And yes nbadraft.net sucks and usually seems to be wrong.

For example…Terrence Ross doesn’t even appear on the second round of draftexpress.com. BTI put absolutely no effort into anything…sigh

NBAdraft.net should just let me do their mock drafts…That is, if they want it done more accurately. That’s a piss poor job. T. Jones, way too low, Ross way too high, Kabongo….ain’t happening, Q Miller too high, Gilchrist too low…etc..etc…

#10 I always saw Doron Lamb as a Jason Terry type player. Similar size and shooting touch, not quite as good as Terry when it comes to ballhandling. I could see Lamb flourishing in that type of NBA role if he plays backup PG this year (and hopefully next)

Don’t forget that Courtney Lee of Western Kentucky University also plays for Houston, another reason to like the Rockets.

I kind of doubt that all of the top 16 picks will be out of the high school class of 2010 and 2011 with no upper classmen and no foreign players.

i would be surprised if there aren’t more Mexican players in next years draft. A least 2 in the top 15–i think

Well BTI, the burden of understanding lies with the writer. If your readers don’t understand your sarcasm it’s because you suck at it. Along with everything else.
