Hide Your Grandmothers, Bob Wiggins is Back in Town

Bob Wiggins, the man who hasn’t missed a UK game in about 145 years, is potentially the most awesome guy I have ever seen. Here he is with Kyle Wiltjer, his face and pants held high and representing the Cats. I love some Bob Wiggins…

Isn’t becoming a “certain age” great! You can wear whatever the hell you want, say whatever the hell you want, and do whatever gramma lets you get away with!

It really looks like he skipped having a certain stretch of the human body. Maybe the pelvis?

I once rode an elevator with him and Bill Keightley in Fayetteville, AR. Best elevator ride ever.

Kyle Wiltjer, kid has a life size fathead, just saying. When you are that age you can say, do, wear anything you want, you young whipper snappers.

CoachCal should take Wiggy1 to meet Wiggy2 on his next recruiting trip to Huntington. Wouldn’t that be like THE most awesome recruiting visit ever? “Hi Andrew. We’d like you to meet one of KentuckY’s biggest supporters and fans, Bob Wiggins. He’s been coming to UK games for 75yrs (or whatever it is).” That’d blow away anything any other coach could or would do. DO IT, CoachCAL, TAKE Bob on your next recruiting visit to see Andrew Wiggins!

I hope someone initiates an oral history project surrounding UK basketball and downloads his memory. I’m sure he has about 90 days of stories to tell.

26: You are correct in what you say, but #8 does have a shirt “like that had a basketball going threw [sic] the net”. My guess is the shirt was blew.
