Did some work at that Krogers today. Took a break outside the front of the store at 8:30am and people were stopping to ask if we were getting lined up because if we were they were going to get their things together and come join us. When I left at 11:30 people were already in lawn chairs in the parking lot. Proud of Owensboro for the UK love!!
Any Moonlite BBQ while over there?
Tons of people showed up at Owensboro–they were saying it was the biggest crowd so far. My pops and I represented from Madisonville!

Old Hickory for the BBQ. Moonlite for the mac n cheese and banana pudding. Then, when you leave Moonlight, go next door to the Dipper and get a Malt. Damn I miss home.
Old Hickory Bar-B-Que best in Owensboro, Ky…….Moonlite regarded as best in Ky, Southern In, Southern Ill. They also come to eat here from Kansas City and Memphis. Case closed .
Yes we all will agree “OLD HICKORY” is the best BBQ in Owensboro. I just wish this was held at the “Sports Center” (KWC multiple DII champs home) and not at the center of an owensboro Kroger parking lot. Alum Rex Chapman’s Apollo would have been a better choice as well. I just hope they visited Five guy’s nom nom….even though “OLD HICKORY” was less than a block away.
Owensboro has an Orange Leaf now. I bet that’s why Coach Cal put the boro on his tour.
