Hartline’s status still uncertain

Not that a November football battle between Kentucky and Vanderbilt needs any more sex appeal than what the rivalry already holds, but UK fans are left wondering this week if starting quarterback Mike Hartline will return to relieve reigning SEC Freshman of the Week Morgan Newton. Today, according to our buddy Tom Leach, Hartline went through his first full practice since injuring his knee. Rich Brooks, however, says they remain in wait-and-see mode with Hartline’s availability for Saturday. In regard to #5’s performance, Brooks said he “did some good things but a couple of times looked like he had some rust on him”. He added that they will now wait to see how the knee holds up the next 24 hours before trying to determine his availability. Hartline, though, said that his knee will be sore no matter what he does, so he’s focusing on just getting used to running with the brace on his knee.
