It just sucks that UK is losing the media war on this one. Are we really that scared of losing to IU at home next year that we’re gonna just completely drop one of the best rivalries in college hoops.

I hate to beat a dead horse concering Ryan Lemond’s Glasses, but I just remembered from my days in the Marine Corps when recruits in boot camp were issued their “BCG”(no, not Billy Clyde Gillispies)glasses otherwise known as “Birth Control Glasses” because of how ugly they were. You could pretty much guarantee if you wore them out in public you would be receiving “NO Action” (or attention) from the opposite sex. Sorry Ryan, I just had to share this.

Apparently the valet people in Louisville are 100x’s better than the ones in Cincinnati. A few years back my car was in valet for a weekend while I was downtown at a conference. Long story short, my car got broke into all my shit stolen and they did NOTHING to pay for it or replace my belongings.

You can’t tell me they cant drive TWO hours? He has little faith in IU fandom across the state. As much as I want it on campus, the financial side makes sense too. And with IU football in same boat as UK football (not a financial power), what does one game really mean?

I feel Cal is trying to set up more games in “neutral” venues so that his style of team (young) will be better prepared for the tourney environment than the home & home type. which while more enjoyable for the fans are not relevant in the tourney. Cal is betting the fans will be happier winning in the NCAA than on the road or at home in December.
I think the old adage “Absence maks the heart grow fonder” applies here…iu loses a quality opponent,national/regional TV coverage,money etc…once they figure this out…things will change…

I think IUs plan all along was to end the series…their conference schedule is brutal and a tough non-conf schedule would put a 1 seed in jeopardy for a team that is likely a 1 seed caliber team
If UK fans go silent on this issue, IU fans will voice to the IU admin to make it happen.
I so do not care about playing Indiana, don’t care if we never play them again. Might be hurtful to Ryan, but I could care less about playing some supposed rivalry. IU does not matter to me. Hell, Bobby Knight is as excited as anyone about not playing, we should feel the same.

What’s the worst case scenario with playing IU in a home and home series? It’s not college football where one loss knocks you out of the BCS.

You realize how hated the Cats are when we make decisions that effect another team, and you see other fan bases (IU,Louisville,Kansas,Ohio State,UNC,Duke) joining forces to hate on our Cats. It’s amazing!! Calipari’s new tag line should be- John Calipari- Bringing insecure fan bases together since 2010.
The thing that will not affect UK is the Cats will still be on prime time TV channels such as ESPN and CBS and pull the top stories on SC. The IU and UNC games would have been nice in December on CBS, but UK will be good. It will hurt the television networks and other teams more than it will hurt us. We don’t move the needle; we are the needle. And the media should quit bitchin’ about the rivaly, fans, etc. They are only concerned about them because it would make for good print and stories.

I used to love the neutral site IU games — 50-50 crowds are a great environment.
It goes back to what Drew said earlier, everything is in prep for the 6 games in March/April. True road games don’t matter, you don’t play those in March. You play the games that matter on neutral courts.

My step mother is a bartender at CD, as was able to get my father a press pass for the Derby a few years back. This just so happened to be the year that the Queen was there. He said that CD was on lockdown from the time The Queen got there, until the time she left. Even had SWAT members on the roof with guns. He said he would never go again, because it was so miserable.
