Happy, Not Saul, Gets Kentucky Wesleyan Job

Ryan Lemond is safe. Happy Osborne has been named the new coach at Kentucky Wesleyan according to Cole Claybourn of the Owensboro Messenger. Happy is of course the former coach at Georgetown College, where he had immense success, and in recent years has been the coach at Montgomery County High School. He was picked for the job over a number of candidates, including Saul Smith, who campaigned for the job privately over the past few weeks. Happy will surely bring back big time success to Kentucky Wesleyan and the school’s most famous alum, the great Ryan Lemond, can rest easy knowing that his arch nemesis will not be roaming the sidelines of his favorite institution.

Happy for Happy!
Damn, now I have to bring Saul to Texas Tech.
6)I doubt that TT will alow it. Saul got caught for DUI and they wouldn’t want any part of that after just having to fire a drunk not too long ago.
We want the latest on Wiggins? Really? There hasn’t been a “latest” on that in months. Enough. Obviously by now we should know he will let us know when he let’s us know.
Oops…somehow clicked over to the wrong place for that #8 comment…
I wanted this job but they did not want me back for some reason. coach Harper even called for me. Screw them!
Happy has what every successful coach at Wesleyan has had in the last 15 years, a pipeline on Div 1 transfers. A mixture of competent 4 year players with talent that just didn’t seem in the right place in Div 1 has usually meant NC’s in Div 2.
#11 This is exactly what I told my dad, I was at Georgetown College when Happy was there and he was constantly bringing in D1 transfers (OhioU, Villanova, etc.) I even heard his way of recruiting guys was to tell them “sign with your D1 school for one year so you get the publicity and if it doesn’t work out come play for me and be a star” I think he will do very well there!
