Gonna be interesting to see how these recent hires will affect recruiting. What I like most is that we are gaining geographical areas to tap into. We have the most relentless recruiter Tennessee had and he works the North East very well. Stoops has Florida/Ohio connections. Eliot has Florida Connections and now you add Neal Brown which adds Texas/Oklahoma. Much Much easier to convince Texas/Ohio/Northeast kids to play in the SEC than it is to get elite athletes from Florida to leave and come to Kentucky. But I think Eliot/Stoops will get enough.

He is not the only coach of the basketball team as there are several assistant coaches. I also find it ironic that there are several other “UK Coaches” in each of the other sports at the school, but Calipari has taken it upon himself to be the “UKCoach”? Please address this.

Players to Watch on the Recruiting Front:

    Kentucky Boys:

    Ryan Timmons- 3/4star RB
    James Quick- 4-star WR
    Jason Hatcher- 4-star DE

    Others in Play:

Mackensie Alexander- 4 star DB (top 40 recruit)
Also has a twin that plays DB
Both have great relationships with Stoops and WR coach.

Antonio Carter – 4-star DB heavily recruited by Tenn Hinshaw
Shelton Gibson – 4-star WR from Cleveland
Denver Kirkland- 4-star DE from Florida (DJ Eliot heavy influence)
Tyrone Crowder – 3-star OL from UNC (Hinshaw has huge connection with family)
Tarean Folston – 3/4-star RB that Eliot and Stoops were after
Taj Williams – 3-star WR from Florida that Stoops was recruiting

All players that UK SHOULD be able to at least have a conversation with….

A twin is one of two offspring produced in the same pregnancy.[1] Twins can either be monozygotic (“identical”), meaning that they develop from one zygote that splits and forms two embryos, or dizygotic (“fraternal”) meaning that they develop from two separate eggs that are fertilized by two separate sperm.

    From that wiki page –
An avid sports fan, Poe was instrumental in the evolution of recruit reporting, being the first to showcase high school and junior high highlights of prospective recruits. Poe visited many recruiting combines for future collegiate athletes, began writing about prospects online and soon developed a large following. Poe was soon approached by a large sports internet firm to launch his own website and message board, BigBlueNation.com.

Popularity of the website eventually led to radio shows with ClearChannel on weeknights, pre- and post game reports and Sunday morning call-in shows. Poe also produced a weekly collegiate and high school highlight television show contracted through ESPN2, Fox Sports South, and local CBS affiliates. Poe established an apparel manufacturing division and assisted in the opening of retail outlets with NCAA, SEC and NIKE rights.

In 2002, the University of Kentucky demanded that Poe withdraw his trademark application for the name “Big Blue Nation,” which had become the title of the website, radio and television shows, as well as the magazine and apparel outlets. Poe was the first to use the phrase in commerce; its only association with the University began a year prior on a free McDonalds poster, and UK never attempted to trademark the phrase.

The attorneys that he DID have on staff were disbarred, and the rest of the workers had no license to practice law. Last I had heard, which was a few years ago, he was getting ready to be hit with a class action lawsuit for scamming hundreds of people out of their money. Have no idea how that ended up, though.
