Archie Goodwin, a 6-foot-4 shooting guard in the class of 2012, has seen his recruitment jump the past couple of months. The Arkansas native was a virtual unknown until this spring when emerged as one of the best rising juniors in the country. Now, Kentucky is involved.
Goodwin has a list of “Kentucky, Arkansas, Memphis, Mississippi, Missouri, Missouri State, Alabama, Tulsa, Baylor, Tennessee, Nebraska, Florida State and North Carolina.” He doesn’t have an offer from the Wildcats yet, however, “Kentucky is showing a lot of interest.” Despite no offer, Goodwin has UK as one of his favorite schools. “Right now, my favorite schools are Kentucky, Arkansas, Memphis, Mississippi, Baylor and Tennessee,” he said.
Kentucky has made a great impression on Goodwin. “I think Kentucky is a very nice school,” he said. “They have a lot to offer; both in athletics and education wise. It’s family oriented which is big for me.” Recently, Archie took an unofficial visit to the Bluegrass school and enjoyed it. “My visit went very well,” stated the standout. “I had a lot of fun and got to meet a lot of people there so it went very well.” Kentucky is certainly on the radar of Archie Goodwin.
Will they offer him? They are already so high on his list. It’s very possible as Archie’s stock continues to rise higher and higher every week.
