Jeff Goodman, is blogging a bit about the NBA Draft and, like Andy Katz, has some advice for Jodie Meeks and Patrick Patterson. However, unlike Katz, who emphatically recommended that both return to school, Goodman says he thinks Patterson should keep his name in the draft. Meeks, though, finds himself in the “Come back, young man” category.
Here is what he said about each.
Patrick Patterson, 6-9, PF, Soph., Kentucky – Patterson is coming off a strong season, and his stock probably won’t increase much with one more season, especially in new coach John Calipari’s dribble drive system. He’s a lock first-rounder, and that’d be difficult to pass up.
Jodie Meeks, 6-3, SG, Jr., Kentucky – He had a terrific first part of the season, but dropped off down the stretch when opposing defenses began to key on him. Meeks could use another year to work on being able to beat defenders off the dribble on a more consistent basis.
