Kentucky Sports Radio

University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

Goodbye, Dez. We hardly even knew you.

Just as suspected after he left Lexington without committing, former Xavier guard Dez Wells has removed Kentucky from consideration. Wells is visiting Memphis today, he’ll check out Maryland tomorrow, and then he’ll announce his commitment next week.

There was a mutual interest between Kentucky and Wells, but there were also concerns with getting him eligible and in classes so he could play right away this season. I’m sure there was also a mutual understanding that if he didn’t play in 2012-13, he could find himself towards the bottom of the rotation next year behind what will be a monstrous 2013 class for Kentucky.

We hardly even knew him.

Pastner will take him here in Memphis, they are only recruiting SF/PF for 2013, they need some ball handlers. Memphis will be a better fix and closer for him. I don’t see Ohio St. or Maryland picking him up. I bet he commits to Memphis today, I will be watching the door for signs!!! lol

Sounds like he was trouble anyway. Kind of glad he went elsewhere. Not sour grapes,,,just the facts. And why did he get dismissed at Xavier ???

still skeptical of these reports. he has until the 12th day of classes to make a decision, maryland has already started classes as well… i don’t think it would be too hard to get him eligible given the magic UNC has worked with their academics.
