I think we worry so much about the player with the poor performance is because we are paranoid as fans. It has been 13 year since we have won a national championship. Since then we have seen Duke, Kansas, and UNC win multiples. Most of us can’t help but wonder what will be the killer this year. However, I do believe it is stupid that we worry about small things like that so much.

Now, if you’ve ever even tried to kick a field goal, you have zero chance.
but if you’ve goofed off kicking a ball with friends and have any athleticism, 30 yards isn’t much.

    Scott says:
    December 7, 2011 at 6:42 pm
I own an uplink company, and between ESPN, Fox and some other sports networks, I broadcast nearly 100 hd and sd games per year. The problem is not their equipment per se, it’s that they buy as little bandwidth as possible to uplink their games. I’ve seen their satellite feed from my truck on occasion and they do not even use parameters that are acceptable for sd news on a national level. If they’d buy about triple the bandwidth that they currently do, there’d be a ten fold difference in quality. Or they could contract out the production and uplink for about $20,000/game. In my opinion, they’re not too concerned with the complaints; they know cat fans are going to watch, no matter the quality of the production.

just got this from someone with Big Blue Network – The game is recorded digitally and replayed that way. It is sent to Fox Sports via satellite but it’s not a digital feed to FSS. This adds to “signal loss”. Then FSS relays the signal, which means more “signal loss”.

Matt has said on this show that we can’t compete in the SEC regardless if we go out and pay a big time coach the money or not..Mainly because kentucky does not produce the high school talent as other SEC schools..Yet Louisville continues to improve by bringing in 4 star players each year and they play in the Big East..Now tell me again why we shouldn’t spend the money on a great coach??

Blue Ivy Carter – reportedly the name Blue comes from Jay-Z’s three albums under The Blueprint banner, while the name Ivy is a reference to the number 4 (Roman numerals IV)–a number which Beyoncé apparently holds in high regard.

The baby’s middle name Ivy may be in reference to Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s love of the number 4. They married on April 4, 2008, Beyoncé’s latest album is called 4 and the couple have matching tattoos of the roman numeral for 4 – IV – on their wedding fingers.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z were also born on September 4 and December 4 respectively.

i have a friend who got picked to go the length of a football field with a pass, a punt and then kick a field goal for $10,000. he did it, but the school (UT Martin) refused to pay him because he was on the baseball team. Had to go to court, but finally got his money

  303. boone
    11:28 am January 9, 2012 Permalink

272 – The rev is absolutely incorrect. The $10,000 is most definitely considered income, which is taxed just like your paycheck. What he is probably trying to say is Kroger doesn’t have to deduct the taxes before paying the contestant, which I believe may be correct. Either way, taxes will have to be paid sooner or later with their 2012 tax return

However, it’s worth noting, they are both students, so their total income, even with the winnings may be so low that the entire tax expense will be refunded, assuming minimal other income.

The gift tax I think he’s referring to has absolutely no bearing on anything

Bad luck for Kroger but half court shots, hole-in-ones, etc., are paid by a specialty insurance policy. They cost $500-$1,000 & the sponsor of the event, in this case Kroger, only pay that amount. In this case the insurance company will probably not pay this so Kroger will owe $9,000-$9,500 more than the sponsorhip opportunity.
