….because there is a special horse set to race at Belmont Park on Friday. A loyal and astute KSR reader (and likely one heck of a gambler) emailed in the tip that a Lexington horse by the name of Calipari will be running in the second race, trying to claim the $43,000 purse against a field including Gillispie-like horses named “Mutiny” and “Rascallion”. There’s also one named Becky’s Kitten, which makes me blush.

Broseph is currently unavailable, so I’ll just guess and say it will win, bringing much joy back to Lexington’s Village Racing, LLC and three-time trainer of the year, Todd Pletcher.

***UPDATE: A friend of mine just informed me that the “x” behind the #4 on the guide probably means that Calipari will only run if it rains and the race is moved to dirt. But, the forecast is calling for some Thursday night rain, which might trickle into Friday morning, meaning that Calipari might dominate after all.
