University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

Get excited for the SEC Network

The SEC Network is coming. Check out the trailer that was aired during the league’s press conference last week. What does the network mean for Kentucky? Money. Lots and lots of money. The university will net at least $28.5 million per year, which will go towards all sorts of stuff to improve your University of Kentucky athletics.

The :38 second mark is especially exciting.

I could already see all the games without this new network. The only difference is that now my cable bill is going to go up even more.

3 and 10 are right, this sucks for anyone hoping to cut the cord. Endless commercials, edited movies, crap content, constant price hikes…local sports is the only reason that a lot of people keep cable. This just made it a lot harder to get rid of it, not to mention what nasties Time Warner might have up their sleeves.

14 exactly right. i already have the big 10 ch as part of the sports package and it sucks. nothing but olympic sports and replay of old games. i love UK sports but not enough to sit around and watch replays from 10 years ago. our bball games will still be in national networks anyhow. the interesting thing is going to be when new media becomes more and more popular. tv networks will go the way of newspapers before long. i believe this is short lived
