bbmc11-6

Boy do I have a “Happy Friday” present for you. Matt and company will be in studio today to tell us all about KSR’s big night at the Big Blue Madness campout in what is sure to be one of the best radio shows ever. Join in on the fun by calling (502) 571-1080. Today’s topics include:

— Campout

— Campout

— Some talk about the LSU game

— Louisville: Big East or Big 12?

— Campout

If you don’t listen, you will seriously regret it.

Catfan Forever (the Batman theme) for 1995-96 season. Delk and McCarty came in from the ceiling (or that was the plan, they may have scrapped that at the last minute).

Tubby’s first year was at Memorial too (he came in through the crowd). I’m pretty sure they were in Memorial through 2000 (when I graduated).

It was at least 2000 or 2001, Tubby came out in a Delorian. Heather Renee French was there as Miss America. So at least 2000. Think it was the 2000-2001 season.

I thought Cal was scum at Memphis, mostly due to the TN fans that I’m around everyday complaining about him. I was skeptical of him for the first few months of being at UK. The more interviews that I heard and watched, the more I began to like him. Now, I’m all in. Go CATS!!!!! and Go CAL!!!!!!

How does UK ensure that no improper benefits from fans is going to players as a result of this campout? Is there general information given to fans in line to not do so? Is that the reason for twitter messages about stopping the players while in line? I’ll take the answers offline 🙂 …

Midnight Madness is an event for the fans, but its real importance to the program is that it provides a chance to “wow” recruits in attendance. Accordingly, direct everything to exciting and entertaining the recruits in attendance. (1) Cut the Women’s B-ball team stuff. This is not an event to celebrate the women’s team. It’s about the Men’s team. If UK wants to keep the women’s team involved, limit it to a nice introduction and short highlight video. No more than 20 minutes dedicated to the women. (2) Dunk contest, but not a traditional one like at the NBA all-star game. Basically, have each player do their three best dunks. Have it be rapid fire, generating a lot of cheers. (3) Combine a hip hop / pop concert at the close of the event. Bring in whoever’s hot with the players /recruits (someone like Drake) and have them do a mini concert (3-5 songs) after the players scrimmage. The players can stay and enjoy it and the recruits get a little something extra. My 2 cents.

Hey Matt, Joker suffers more ire from the fan-base than the normal 2nd year coach because he was the Offensive Coordinator for several years leading up to his head-coach position. Fans were not enthralled with his play calling then and now that has carried over to his new tenure as our head coach.
