Good morning, my nieces and nephews! Matt is entirely too exhausted tonight to post Who can blame him when he was exposed to the deadly and beautiful rays of Maria Montgomery earlier this week. And Beisner was too exhausted tonight to post since he spent all day searching Tampa for UK onsies and bibs. Yet again they have dropped you off at Uncle Fake Gimel’s house so they can go home and get some rest.
You guys know the rules. Keep out of my beer and don’t scratch my Jackson Browne records. To the News:
* Nobody knows exactly what Jodie Meeks is gonna do.. Check out Aaron’s post below for some guessing and speculation. Going in the second round this year (and getting a team to pick up his rights for 3 years) will be significantly better than what Jodie will face in the NBA draft next year: A potentially stacked class (with possibly one other UK player). Very little hope of making the second round. Looking at trying to free-agent his way onto a team, bounce around the NBADL or heading to Europe for a few years.
If Jodie doesn’t stay just a little bit longer some of us Kentucky fans might be disappointed. We’ve all had at least 3 different dreams that involve John Wall or Eric Bledsoe driving to the basket and making a daft pass to a wide-open Jodie Meeks behind the arc. The ball goes through the net, Grandma dances around happily in her feather boa, and the midget in the cowboy outfit rides around on a tricycle.
But it’s clear that Jodie’s Happy Place involves the Big Show. By bearing the load of Billy Clyde and making a tough season slightly more enjoyable, I think he’s earned the right to follow his dreams.
* Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach Wendy Palmer has resigned and is taking the head coaching job at Virginia. UK Hoops Head Coach Matthew Mitchell is coping the only way he knows how. Seriously, it’ll be interesting to see who Coach Mitchell gets for Wendy’s replacement.
By the way, which is the most disappointing program (not coached by Billy Clyde) for UK this year: Baseball (28-26, 12-18 SEC, losing momentum from last year’s NCAA appearance) or Women’s Basketball (16-16, 2nd round loss to WNIT, team is 23-22 overall last two years with Coach Mitchell)?
Ponder on that while you jump into your PJs. See you guys later today, where I’m sure we won’t just twiddle our thumbs hoping that Xavier Henry has more rumored doubts. Time for me to turn in; I’d love to stick around but I’m running behind. You know I don’t even know what I’m hoping to find.
