Former UK assistants officially join Petrino’s staff at WKU

The news became official this morning that two of Joker Phillips’ former staff members at Kentucky will be joining Bobby Petrino at Western Kentucky. Mike Summers and Mike Cassity have both taken positions at WKU. Summers and Cassity were both assistants on Phillips’ staff last season. Summers had been UK’s offensive line coach and Cassity joined the staff last season as a defensive backs coach.

Summers and Cassity have strong previous connections to Petrino. Both were assistants to Petrino while he was at Louisville. Summers also joined Petrino with the Falcons and Arkansas. Good luck to the former WIldcat assistants…except when we play WKU in Nashville next season.

Random fact: Summer is the son-in-law of Joe B. Hall.

And we wonder why Joe B. Hall was pushing so hard for the hire of Petrino. They all deserve each other. I honestly hope we cancel the game with WKU since some of these tools helped put the program in the shape it is in. I don’t even want to give them the satisfaction of playing us with the possibility of beating us…..which we would never hear the end of that. If we do play the game, I hope we DESTROY them.

#1 Think Petrino will want to beat UK? Think Summers and Cassity will help with the scouting report knowing UK’s personnel? You should hope UK cancels the game with WKU because WKU will be favored by 10. LOL, Stoops may turn into a great hire, but hoping UK “destroys” WKU is about as likely as the Charlotte Bobcats going undefeated the rest of the season. You should simply hope for a win… even a 2-0 win on a safety in the 4th quarter.

If someone doesn’t have the picture of Petrino as a fat head in Nashville when we slaughter them, it will be a crime.

UK will not lost again to WKU next year. Heck it took a freak play that they hardly got off, plus UK will be a lot better with an actual coach that looks like he understands the players. We robbed everybody else from hiring him first.

hehehheeheheee….just think, all you petrino aficionados, if he would have become our coach, we would have to live with that picture from now on..

Tired of hearing how great Summers is at OL coach. The 3 years he was at UK our line went from being a strong point to being a liability at best. Every QB who played got injured! If he wasnt Joe B son-in-law would he still have been liked so much?? Best thing about Summers at WKU is Stoops should be able to figure out a way to get to the QB.
