Kentucky Sports Radio

University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

First!

The official blog of UK Athletics, Cat Scratches, has a little nugget this afternoon noting that Lexington has the most passionate basketball fans in the country.  According to a survey by Media Audit, over 76% of of adults in the city regularly follow college basketball, topping Louisville (70.6%), Raleigh-Durham (62.9%), Memphis (62.1%) and Greensboro-Winston Salem (61%).  This, of course, again illustrates the well-known fact that you love Kentucky basketball, you know you love Kentucky basketball.  Even when they make you crazy.

Good job.  You’re a winner.

Should look at the gross number of fans, as well. I grew up in Louisville and still say there are more KY fans there than UL fans.

I’d say at least half of the people in Louisville
who follow college basketball, follow the CATS!

I’m hearing that Pratt and Issel aren’t getting along…..may be benched for rest of season. I’m also hearing that Goose Givens isn’t happy with his role with the team. Says that it’s coaching staff’s fault that he’s getting old, give out, and can’t play any more.

Could it be possible that this year (without Kanter) we just overachieved and are coming back down to earth with a 6 man rotation? I don’t think you can pin this on Cal for not developing the bench when there is not much bench to speak off.
The guys are tired and execution is tough at the end of games when you are out of gas.

March tourney games are a different story as fatigue is not as big an issue due to the extra TV timeouts. I still feel pretty good about this team that, quite frankly, turned out to be a transition year anyways.

How ironic Kentucky’s all-time wins to date is 2042-646 which equates to 76% winning percentages!!!

I’m from Raleigh Durham. It seemed 5-6 years ago Raleigh durham followed Basketball a lot more closely when NCSU and Wake Forest were decent (2005 was a fun year in the triangle)
