Faulkner and Dawson to start in All-American Bowl

Kentucky football fans get a glimpse into the future Saturday as Morgan Newton takes the helms of the offense in the Compass Bowl.  As long as they keep their DVR game strong, they can catch another glimpse into the possible future at the Army All-American Bowl features a committed Cat and a targeted one both starting on the same defense.  According depth chart released yesterday, Boyle County’s Lamar Dawson will start at outside linebacker for the West team and Kentucky commitment Glenn Faulkner will start at safety.

Faulkner, ranked 102nd in the Rivals 250 and rated as the fifth-best safety in the nation, committed to UK in March.  Meanwhile, Dawson ranks 54th in the nation overall and as the third-best inside linebacker in the country.  He will still visit Southern Cal, Central Florida and Tennessee before deciding where he wants to take his Intro to College Algebra courses.

The game will air at 1pm on NBC.

Joker could really win the fan base over with a convincing win over Pitt, hold on to Jon Davis’s commitment, and snag up Mr. Dawson… That would solidify some positive for the program moving forward… Go Cats…

Also a big shout out to Adam Wing, a junior quarterback from Rowan County Senior High in Morehead. Only two participants from Kentucky, Dawson and Wing. Adam is a legit 6’5″ and also an outstanding basketball player.

Dawson is just keeping UK on his list to keep the Boyle Co folks happy. He has no intention of committing to Joker. Tenn or Oregon is my guess.

13 ) When this was first posted, he had the Liberty Bowl. It has since been changed, so all is good!

I would disagree Tobias. I know several people very connected to the Boyle program that say he is very interested in KY. Still don’t understand why so many people are hating on Joker, at least give him a couple of years before you kick him to the curb…

I am mildly close to the Dawson recruitment and he most certainly does have an interest in KY.

Also, he is an excellent student who will certainly be beyond “Intro to Algebra” wherever he chooses to go to school.

I really hope we land Dawson. He could really tie this class up, and possibly give us a top 25 class (unbelievable!).

17- Yea, I’m not sure why he through that little “Intro” shot in there…

7- Have no idea about either’s interest level. Dawson seems interested from what I’ve read. Pike has another year of High School, with plenty of schools interested, so who knows…
