    Glad our boys are outside having fun and enjoying the nice weather, but I sure hope they don’t spend the whole summer making movies. There’s lots of time to be spent in the gym this summer if they want to sniff some playing time and help the Cats bring home #9.

    I hope you all don’t expect them to be in the gym or weight room 24/7. I’m glad to see the four of them, 3 of which will be leaders in some form or another next season, bonding and having a good time together. I’m sure they’re spending plenty of time improving their game. They just aren’t filming that. At least not for the purpose of putting it online

    Yes, these guys should spend every second of their free time in the gym and never have any fun. Let’s hope the new recruits don’t make videos or we probably won’t make the tournament again next season.

    Seriously people! Vine is an App that takes 5 seconds of video at different intervals, needs no editing and a caveman can do it. Quit harping on everything these college students are/are not doing. I am so happy to see them having fun being kids and enjoying the last few weeks of THEIR school year.

    Alex looks like a huge weight has has been lifted off his back with the decision to stay. I think a lot of folks around him were trying to push him along to quickly. He sure seems relaxed now! Glad HE decided he would stay rather than go to the draft.

    Glad to see the guys enjoying some time off. I think they all will be working hard this summer but it can’t be all fun and no play or you’ll go crazy!

    I think this is great – part of the problem last year, IMO, is that there wasn’t a bond among players. Something like this is good for them as teammates. They will have their time to get in the work; in the meantime spending this time together will strengthen friendships and trust.

    Let these kids have fun and enjoy college. Shut about them not being in the gym 24/7. As Matt has said we don’t know how much time they are putting in the gym so let them be 20 year old kids and quit acting like you all work 24/7 and don’t have a social life.

    Looks like Polson actually caught the pass in the top video. Doesn’t Stoops need more receivers? Send Polson out for football and put him on scholly. Stoops gets an extra receiver / Cal gets an extra Scholarship – two problems solved with one move.

    OK,OK, so maybe I was cracking the whip a bit too much. However, I really want to see these kids succeed, and we are going to need all of them at some point next season. Kyle in particular might be a crucial player if we face a zone and need a 3-pt shooter. He really needs to bulk up and increase his quickness.

    Have fun guys, but make sure you set a goal to improve and take it seriously.

    Alex, Kyle, and the others are enjoying the full college experience they have earned and have re-committed to for next year. Quit being such critical louts. And, maybe some of you should follow your own advice: get off the internet and shed some pounds and gain some footspeed. Oh, and you might want to lay off the chips a bit, too. They mess up your keyboard.

    19- theyre college students throwing a football, its not a concentration camp. I bet he had already been to the weight room and the gym before they made the video. Hes got plenty people tellin him to hit the weights already, he doesnt need any more.

    Hey, I have an idea. Kyle, maybe your time would be better spent in the weight room or working with a trainer on… I don’t know… foot-speed? And Alex maybe some ball-handling drills or perhaps learning what a baseline looks like and staying inside of it? Just saying….

    These guys shouldn’t be doing anything but squats, lunges, power cleans, and they should only stop to sleep and drink brotein shakes. They shouldn’t even go to class. They need to work their asses to a pulp so that I can be more effectively entertained next fall. I will not tolerate sub-par entertainment from these 20 year olds.

    Entertainment has nothing to do with it Fat Old Man but TRADITION does. I wonder if people like Michael Kidd-Gilgrest, Dan Issel or Derrick Anderson would agree with your assessment of “they’re just college kids”? No, they are much more than that. They wear a jersey that says KENTUCKY on the front. Those jerseys don’t fit pussies, jerk-offs, or members of WBA. I would bet that the aforementioned MEN along with many others that wore the uniform would agree.

    Alex Poythress is so soft. Imagine him in shoulder pads and a helmet with somebody charging after him…he would fall down and give up like a little girl (similar to his entire 2012-2013 season). It’s funny the 2 softest players in the SEC are joking around making football videos while everyone else is studying to trying to win games next season. Soft bench players.

    #36 – I’m sure you’re right. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Dan Issel, and Derrick Anderson NEVER had fun in college and only existed to work out and play basketball. That’s all they ever did – they never hung out with friends, partied, went to class, or watched TV. Their only goals in life were to (a) win basketball games and (b) entertain fat old white men who are trying to live vicariously through them.

    I know most of you who are saying they need to be constantly working out have no concept of what it means to actually work out and train for a sport, but you need to REST more than you do work out in order to reap the benefits. Muscles don’t grow when you’re in the gym.

    I agree with others who wish Alex and Kyle would be practicing their basketball skills instead of chucking footballs around a dorm parking lot. I don’t think BBN can take another season like this past one.

    If watching TV, partying, and doing other things that define the “college experience” is what they want… fine. But after the season that these clowns put in (Poythress, Wiltjer), to air a video of more soft-a$$ foolishness is extremely poor form and reflects nothing but immaturity and a lack of commitment. If tossing a damned football around, showing the same pasty, weak body that was continually taken advantage of this season is what Kyle wants then he has every right to do so. Thats fine, but he needs step aside and let someone that has a little pride and toughness take his place. And you can take it to the bank #39 that if Issel, Kidd-Gilchirst, Anderson or any other of the real basketball players that have played at KY had had the season these guys had they would be taking care of business not acting like little boys.

    These guys need to be in the gym hitting shots and getting in shape. Making videos to post on KSR did not help them with their game this past season. I would love to see them posting videos of them on the basketball court or running to help us not have the year we just witnessed.

    #43 – I’m glad you can tell what kind of workouts they’re doing by watching 10 seconds of clips from Vine. Maybe they hit the gym for two hours before they posted these two 10 second clips. THINK before you criticize and give our fan base a bad name.

    Oh, and didn’t Alex just post a picture of himself working out in the gym at about 10PM two nights ago? That’s right, he did! How about that!

    Here’s a better idea, if you know how to win… better yet, if you know how to motivate 18-21 year olds, why don’t you ring up Coach Cal and ask for a job? Get out of your armchair you piece of shit and quit making the rest of us decent fans look bad.

    They go out and entertain you for free, because I’m guessing you don’t contribute to the K-Fund like some of us do, or have seats at Rupp, and all you can do is bitch about their conditioning on a website. Hell, did you even go to UK, or are you just some entitled ass who thinks he has a right to make demands of people who owe nothing to you?

    When your argument is weak you will always resort to name-calling. Your point is bereft and completely without merit. But I will proceed to destroy your faulty premise of these athletes are simply “college students” by pointing you to one of the MEN that has passed thru this program by reminding you of what Shaun Woods said at the beginning of the season and I quote, “these players seem to act like they are entitled”. Notice he didn’t say… “hey they’re just kids”. No he saw the problem and addressed it. He my friend, was a player. That’s why he was able to make that fantastic shot just before Lattner made his. How was he able to do that? By goofing off during the previous off-season? I seriously doubt it.

    Some people think these kids should live in the gym 24/7. Let them be kids. When it is time to work, go to work, but let them enjoy their time here,it passes to quick as it is.     Oh, you say that you put in a full day at work (or years at work if you’re retired) and that you’re entitled to a little time to unwind and read about UK sports and it’s your RIGHT as a fan to be a piece of crap and use that down time to criticize a bunch of kids for doing the same?
