Ever wanted to be a jockey?
Now you can be! Take a ride on Derby 139 winner Orb in this 90’s video game-era graphics recreation.
Just pretend it’s rainy and muddy, and you didn’t lose all your money betting on losers.
Honestly, it’s kind of neat.

University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible/ or sometimes stuart hammers facebook page. #pointless post
Nothing like “MY OLE KENTUCKY HOME”!!!!!
Did not find that to be “neat” by any stretch………………..
Just wondering… At the end of the video, how can the average race speed be higher than the peak stretch speed? They had to get that backwards.
4 – The numbers are correct. In almost every race, horses run slower at the end than at the beginning. Closers appear to be flying at the end, but they are simply slowing less dramatically than are the tiring frontrunners. The first quarter mile of the Derby was run in a little under 23 seconds. Orb ran his last quarter mile in something like 26 seconds.
It was neat, thanks Stuart.
It was neat. But, as better than your average bear race fan I must say; no whip, no mud.
#5 and #4. Handicapping tip : in turf races the last 1/8 is always faster than in dirt/poly races. A fact.
That’s got nothing on Japan’s fever dream of what horse racing is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDe1affBYYU&t=0m36s
