ESPNU to televise Kentucky’s White House visit

Good news for those of you unable to make the trip to Washington this Friday: ESPNU will televise the Cats’ visit to the White House live starting at 5 p.m. EDT. Andy Katz will be with the team as they meet the President during what the network is billing as “SportsCenterU Special: Kentucky at the White House.” ESPNU will also air a half-hour behind-the-scenes special entitled “All-Access: Kentucky at the White House” on May 11th at 11:30 p.m. EDT.
Can they just change the name of the network to ESPNUK already? (h/t to TexasCatFan for that brilliance)

Just call it “The Kentucky Effect”.
Didn’t you mean “May 4th”? I think you accidentally said “May 11th” cause you were
gettin’ all carried away with those “11”s. 🙂
That ESPNU logo has always bothered me. Our wildcat’s tail isn’t that long– we rock a nub.
Another great recruiting tool
4 – Aaaargh! ESPN hates Kentucky! Rabble rabble rabble!!!
Eat an orange, or something good for you Ms Tyler Thompson.
ESPNUK
Andy Katz goes to the White House with Kentucky while Matt Jones stays home! Something tells me this will be a topic on the radio show!
Sorry uofl fans, the prez of the ncaa ruled (surprisingly) that we do NOT have to take you guys along with us. You do not get a trophy for simply participating – ya actually have to win the National Championship to visit the White House.
It’s cool UK has such a great relationship with ESPN. We get everything televised.
I agree about the U logo, though. The Wildcat is a bobcat, right? It’s got a bob tail.
#4 me too man I even sent them an email about it, looks more like Penn St’s
4 — That comment made me laugh for some reason.
The ESPU logo should have the claw coming over like on the old school UK logo
Freakin’ awesome!!!!
Are you watching, Anthony Bennett & Amile Jefferson?
Love it. I suppose KY is going to be the first team in basketball history to have a practice and white house visit televised by an ESPN network within months of each other. I agree with some of the other folks above me, the espnu UK logo looks strange. Apparently someone at ESPNU thinks we’re the Kentucky Lions.
Why does our Wildcat logo have a lions tail?
will also be on espn3
#17: I agree. I have emailed ESPNU several times with a typical response of “we’ll look into it.” It appears to be virtually the same logo they would use for Penn State. It looks nothing like a Wildcat.
Kevin Stallings has it right. He is irritated like all other non-UK fans that not only ESPN but CBS wants UK every year for more games on national TV than any other school!!! It truly is the KENTUCKY EFFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!
