University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

ESPN’s Blog asks, “Is Kentucky a threat to Louisville?”

Two college football bloggers — one from the SEC, one from the Big East — discuss Mark Stoops’ impact on recruiting in Kentucky and the effect he has on what Charlie Strong is doing at U of L.

Big East blogger Andrea Adelson writes: “… seeing Kentucky up there in the ESPN rankings has to put a pit in the stomach of Louisville fans everywhere. Because as Louisville has risen, Kentucky has fallen miserably, a double dose of joy for Cards fans. Stoops, however, is no pushover. So now the big question: Does Louisville have to start worrying about Kentucky again?”

To which SEC blogger Edward Aschoff says: “I’m not ready to crown Stoops as the next great recruiter, but if I’m at Louisville, I’m a little worried about what Stoops could do in and around the state of Kentucky.”

Then Adelson asks: “I think their game this year in Lexington may end up being the most difficult on the schedule for Louisville. I know it’s looking way far ahead, but do you think there is a chance the Wildcats pull the upset?”

And Aschoff said: “With the current roster Kentucky has, it’ll be tough, so if the Wildcats are going to pull the upset this fall, those freshmen have to make an immediate impact.”

I think Loserville was worried as soon as Stoops was hired to be honest. They knew a passionate fan base would be reenergized based on Joker leaving alone. Toss in the awesome recruiting & lil bro is now frigging going bonkers. I mean hell, look at the rash of trolls on this board that has increased & ya gotta know some of that is nerves (beside them being just idiots).

I’m a UofL fan, and I love what Stoops is doing. The rivalry and state benefits when both teams are doing well. The energy with y’all’s program right now is white hot. That means more hype for the game and more prestige for the winner. See you guys in September.

    7) You’re a Louisville fan with some sense. I’m not a Pitino fan in the least, but I love what him being at UL and Cal being at UK does for the rivalry

Wish we could hear SOMETHING on Lawson?!?! I think UL is gonna be over-rated next year, and over confident. Dangerous combination there. Ky is gonna be hungry, and dangerous. I expect to beat UL. No joke. Stoops will turn Strongs words on him. He’ll never lose to UL.

Louisville will regret the move to the ACC. Clemson and a host of others will own UL for awhile. Getting a schedule that favors UL while being the new kid in the ACC will be like UK playing Florida up here in the late part of the schedule. Charlie didn’t recruit like he should have because he was leaving. I think Stoops will be a great recruiter but I believe he will be a better X and O coach. Charlie if he stays will be looking for a place too go after the 2014 season.

Aside from Bridgewater, there’s not a huge gap in talent. There was a huge gap in coaching though. That’s gone now. Kentucky by 4 in September.

UL recruiting success has been because of Hurtt not Strong & Hurtt about to get hit with a show cause. UL is always going to be restricted by their conference, and the ACC isn’t going to help much especially when the better schools in the ACC jump ship. UL should be extremely nervous !!

A threat to loserville, like they’ve ever been the team to beat. Do these people have a clue to what conference Kentucky is in? The SEC is the power conference in football! Not whatever lame conference loserville picks this year or next…..Now we have an X’s an O’s coach who can recruit and coach. Who unlike our last coach has so far walked the walk and talked the talk. Looking forward to the spring game to get my first look at Stoops in action.

Not a threat at all to our football dominance. We have WON TWO BCS bowls in the past decade. I’ll bet anyone $ that UK does not win two BCS bowl games (or the equivalent) in the next 50 years if they remain in the SEC. You may have a miraculous run and win one, but lightning will not strike twice. Cats suck

Haha @ #21, “…our football dominance.” Perfect example of what Matt has said about many Louisville fans’ total lack of perspective. Better than UK right now? Sure. Dominant? Hardly. Louisville is like the girl at the bar who’s a 6, but thinks she’s a 10, just because all her friends are 4s & 5s.

22 yeah you heard me – dominance. We dominated the Big East last year…along with three other teams. Holy crap, we couldn’t even win the Big East outright. I take back what I said, we are far from dominant. My bad.

Two BCS bowl wins and we even clobbered Florida. When is the last time UK won a BCS bowl game? How about beat Florida? UK has it made with basketball, but you can not talk football until you win big games like we do. Once stoops struggles and goes 5-7 or worse next season you terrible fair weather football fans will call for his head. Live it up while the hype is there Cayuts fans because hype is the only thing you’ll ever do right in football. Even if you go 8-4 one year, you still won’t be playing in a BCS bowl, which we’ve now won 2 of. You…that’s right…zero. C’mon UK, get real. You’d be laughing at any other school in the same situation.

Congrats, Louisville trolls reading this. You went to a BCS by default bc the Big Least is given a BCS bid even though that conference is a joke. Yes, you beat Florida but you wouldn’t have been in a BCS game if it wasn’t for the auto-bid. A good win for you -yes. But “dominating” at football – LOL!!!!

I will never understand why Louisville fans so desperately want our validation. We couldn’t care less what they think about us, but they refresh this site hourly to see what they’re saying about them and to beg for our recognition. It can only be exained by saying “that’s a Louisville fan for ya”

I’d love for the Cards to join the SEC, finish next to last, and never play in a BCS bowl again. Of course, the SEC has a “no fat chicks” policy, so I’m screwed. I’m also an idiot and have no clue what “dominance” means.

  33. BleedingBlue79

Ignorant Louisville fans like L1C4 miss the whole point…is UK great at football? No. Is Louisville great at football? No. Great season last year, but not “dominant” by any stretch of the imagination (outside of Louisville fans’ imaginations, anyway). It’s not hyperbole to say you seriously must not understand what that word means. Say what you want about UK football, but UK fans, by and large, are wayyy more realistic about our place on the football totem pole than Louisville fans are. Congrats on beating Florida, that’s a big deal, but start playing that caliber of team all season long before you start talking about how “dominant” you are. As an aside, calling UK football fans “fair weather fans” is unbelievably ignorant as well. UK has mostly struggled in football for decades & decades, and yet just up until the last year or so, attendance has remained consistent. So, Mr. L1C4, for your homework, here are a couple of terms to go research and familiarize with: 1) dominance. 2) fair weather fans. Go research these terms, so the next time you come back to a UK sports blog or message board desperately seeking validation, even if we still disagree, at least you’ll be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of sports vernacular.

Florida was a very good win for U of L. If it is followed by the same or better performance in the next few years then talk about dominance or even relavance. Charlie Strong and Bobby Petrino have tried to tell the delusional part of fans that over and over. Strong said he wouldnt want any part of the regular season schedule in the SEC. Petrino moaned about getting “beat up” every week in the SEC. To win one bowl game against a Florida team can happen. Just like Morehead beating U of L in the first round of the NCAA. Wont happen on a regular basis. Charlie don’t surf, he knows he caught a Florida team that felt like they should been in the SEC championship game, never heard of louisville football until Charlie went there and no Urban Meyer on the sideline.

Bottom line Louisville has 2 BCS bowl wins and UK will NEVER get one unless they make the Music City bowl a BCS game LOL. You’d kill to have what we have in football and don’t pretend otherwise.

  37. When can I be a big boy???
    10:57 pm February 11, 2013 Permalink

UK leads the series with UL 14-11 overall. Yes UL has been to higher bowl games in the last 15 years. So has other representatives of the Big LEAST. One thing the 3-4 UL fans need to remember is UK could have played in some of the same bowls had they been in an inferior “BCS feels sorry for us so they give us an auto bid” league. UK plays in a big boy league which doesn’t hand out “participation trophies”. Self evaluation asks one to look at themselves and be truthful. Look at the Sugar Bowl win over UF, be truthful and ask, “Did UF come to play or did they participate unwillingly because they felt they should have been in a higher bowl against a better opponent? Florida expected to roll the ball out an walk away with a “W” and Charlie coached his butt off. If that game were played 10 times Florida wins 7 of them at worst. Realize who you are and accept it. Do not lie to yourself by saying dominance and UL in the same sentence unless you can replicate it in a BIG BOY conference.
