As if we’re somehow a factor in SEC Football.

USC will not win a national championship ever with Lane Kiffin as head coach.

Georgia? I don’t believe a voodoo doll or curse is needed to take them out of the equation.

    2. Hope that’s true. Kiffin is clueless, but his coaching staff is excellent. If he just stays out of the way he has a shot. Especially with a weak Pac-12 schedule.

2 – Kiffin is NOT a horrible coach… he is an excellent recruiter i will give him that much. So he didnt perform well with the raiders, who has in the past 10 years!? Tennessee was a horrible fit… that never was going to work but Kiffin fits the swag of USC. They got a hell of a team out there; Heisman Fav QB, 2-1,000 yd rushers plus a 100% health DJ Morgan (top 5 RB in his class), 2-1,000yd receivers plus a stud in George Farmer and Nelson Agholor (remember the name), 2- TE that are huge and athletic in Grimble and Telfair, a O-Line that is all returning except Kalil (they gave up 7 sacks last year)….. the question is on defense; their back 7 in their secondary is almost 13 deep, the big question is the d-line but i mean its USC, they have the athletes.

4- Pac 12 is not as “easy” as some think. Oregon is still very good, Stanford even without Luck is very good, Utah is a solid football team, Washington with Steve Sarkesian will be a test for LSU early in the year and now add Rich Rodriguez to Arizona and they are a solid team, if Cal plays to their potential they are a sleeper and dont count out Washington State with Mike Leech. They have probably the best WR in the Pac-12 who is a stud and an excellent QB. Leech proved that is all he needs to put a good team on the field.

The SEC is a good conference…. NOT a GREAT one… its very top heavy. When your break it down you have:

Elite Teams: Alabama, LSU (nuff said)

Florida, Auburn, Arkansas, Georgia, South Carolina, Miss St. – they are all solid teams, but very inconsistent
Florida is down and has no QB, They were 6-6 last yr and barely beat OSU (a very depleted team)
Auburn had their title but last year was very underwhelming (almost got beat by Utah St.)
Georgia won the east but also got pounded by Boise St. and got beat by MSU in their bowl
Arkansas – all offense no defense
South Carolina – very very inconsistent, win the SEC east 1 yr, the next get beat by UK… just sayin
Miss St. – Good when they play inferior teams

    Vandy, UK, Ole Miss- Scrubs

ppl forget its not like Auburn blew Oregon out… it took a freak run to get auburn in FG range to win.

    My call, USC- 38 – LSU – 17

GUnit wear that pac12 gear proud!! Truth is you don’t know what USC is going to do. They might want to try winning their conference first before trying to win a championship. For the record ESPN can and will eat a dick!!

#9 Sad. This doesn’t bother me at all cause I don’t necessarily consider UK an SEC team. Sad.

I’m off the hater wagon now tho! I just want UofL to lose. I haven’t been a UK football fan for 20+ years like a lot of people so really I have no clue about UK sucking at football so I’m just gonna shut it and watch the games.

G-Unit- Auburn ran all over Oregon. Auburn racked up over 250 yds on the ground in that game, so I think it’s gross oversimplification and mischaracterization to say that it took “one freak run” to get Auburn in FG range to win. Despite it not being a blow out, Auburn dominated the game.

    8. I agree, six straight national championships with four different teams does not constitute a great conference. You gotta win at least ten straight, or else you’re just “good”.

#8 You’re retarded. The SEC is top heavy, which is why they’re not an elite conference? They have 7 of their 14 teams in the pre-season top 25, with Mississippi State, Texas A&M, Tennessee, and Missouri all recieving votes. 5 of their teams are in the top 10. Looks to me like the more dominant conference.

One of the knocks on SEC basketball ( especially last season ) was that it was top heavy. Did not work out to bad for us . Maybe the doubters will start calling the conference to balanced . Lots of jealous individuals out there.

#8. PAC-10 IS weak! USC is the only consistent elite program in that conference and they’re as dirty as Miami. SEC has won 6 straight BCS championships with 4 different teams. Plus several other teams in the top 25 yearly. Yeah, top heavy my ass!

I can guarantee USC won’t score over 30 points against LSU and I can also guarantee LSU will not lose by more than 14 points. So G-Unit, 38-17 isn’t happening. USC may be able to win but they will not score no 38 points.

  22. G-Unit
    10:44 pm August 7, 2012 Permalink

21- USC WONT SCORE 38 POINTS??? if i recall Bama scored 25 with half the offense of USC… that same lsu secondary is there again. Honey badger is very athletic but his technique is awful… if a wr just is a good route runner and very fundamental they can have their way with him just like bamas receivers did. And lsu gotta find a QB and there is a reason they went and got PSU’sbQB…. mettenburger isnt getting it done… and last time i checked in the title gsme they coulda moved the lsu endzone to tje 50 yd line and LSU woulda scored once…

The guy who said USC is going to beat Lsu 38-17 is NUTS!!!!!! You must not watch any of Lsu games last year. They may not have 38 points scored against them total for next year lol! Stay off here talking the sec isn’t that great. Stanford and Oregon wouldn’t go .500 I promise you.

Auburn has had 3 undefeated seasons since 1993… yet they aren’t an elite SEC team?

Name all other undefeated teams since 1993.

USC would be a 6-6 team in the SEC. It is really just a cultural thing. People in California are physically weak in general.

24/25 – I am not an SEC hater… just last year REALLY pissed me off. I wouldve given anything to see Bama-OK St. and LSU-Stanford… yes LSU beat a pac-12 team that year… but Oregon is a running football team which played right into the hands of LSU. And I’m not a fan of just the 4 team playoff… in my opinion each of the 4 teams should be WINNERS of their conference… Yeah does that suck for the SEC, but suck it up.

Hypothetically lets say 2014 comes around and LSU and Bama are still the bigtime fav’s. Lets say Bama beats LSU… but then Bama gets beat in SEC Championship. Then lets say OU gets through big 12 with 1-loss (wins conference), OSU gets through big 10 with 1 loss (wins conference) and USC loses to Oregon but then beats them in Autzen for the title. And what happens if FSU goes undefeated or has 1 loss but wins their conference?

    LSU 11-1
    Bama 11-1
    Oklahoma 11-1
    Oregon 11-1
    USC 11-1
    FSU 11-1
    OSU 11-1

The teams MOST LIKELY to be picked would be LSU,BAMA,USC and who knows the 4th…. that just isnt fair in my eyes when neither SEC team won their conference….it needs to be 8 teams… and the tourney starts in the championship games of the conferences… (a la elite 8)…. but first the superconferences have to be aligned

I live in LA, I’m a UK grad buut there is just something with this years USC team… almost like UK this year in basketball… USC is pissed off, and out for blood and if they put it all together it could make for a very entertaining and competitive NC Game… which is all i want… something more along the lines of USC-Texas, not a FG kicking contest.

  28. G-Unit

26- Uh, USC would be a conference title contender in the SEC. See thats what the “SEC” faithful do not realize. USC’s defensive schemes and ideas are that of any SEC team… Big d-lineman that are fast… very physical secondary…very deep…plus great offenses. USC’s record against the SEC all time is 18-8-1…. with six of those losses coming against the legendary Bear Bryant Alabama teams…. from 2000 til now USC is undefeated against the SEC team…including a 70-17 smack down of an Arkansas team with Felix Jones and Darren McFadden (a team that went on to win the SEC West)… the other game USC won 55-13…. USC also beat a top 10 Auburn team 28-13 and 24-7. Pete Carrol called Bama,UGA,UF and LSU out. said “we will play anyone, anytime, anywhere” obviously some were not up for the challenge. So while the SEC top teams were playing College of Charleston Southern, USC had OOC home and home series against a Vick led VT(top 10 team), a top 10 Michigan team, a top 5 OSU team, and in the future they are playing Texas and TRYING to work a series with Alabama but Bama wont do a home and home. The fact you say that USC would be 1 game better than Kentucky is quite funny and delusional.
