Erik Daniels Sends Greetings to KSR from Ukraine

I talked to former Cat Erik Daniels today and he sends greetings to KSR all the way from Ukraine.

Daniels currently plays professionally for Azovmash Mariupol in Ukraine’s top-level Superleague.

The former UK forward spent time with the NBA’s Sacramento Kings and in the NBA D-League before heading overseas. He currently averages 16.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game in Superleague play.

Daniels added a note about tomorrow’s game and sent a message to one of his opponents:

“Tomorrow we have a game against Patrick Sparks’ team. I expect to be the best Wildcat.”

Sparks plays for Hoverla Ivano-Frankivsk and is averaging 17.5 points per game, which ranks 7th in Superleague scoring.

Erik misses Lexington when he is overseas.

“It was a great experience playing for the Wildcats,” he stated. “I love the fans the city. That is why I chose to raise my children there.”

And walking out of the Rupp Arena tunnel with “Kentucky” on your chest?

“It is one of the greatest feelings in the world. You really don’t appreciate it until you leave. I have played all over the world at all levels and nothing compares to Rupp.”

Erik will be reading the KSR comments tonight (all the way from Ukraine) so make sure you send best wishes his way.
