Well give Pete Thamel credit for something. His tedious work and decision to violate Eric Bledsoe’s privacy could have some ramifications….an appearance at a Birmingham, Alabama school board meeting! According to WLEX, after meeting with the Alabama High School Athletic Association, the Birmingham School District has agreed to look into Bledsoe’s grades. What level of investigation will be done is unclear, but the district has decided to look at the transcripts and the grades he was given. If they find something incorrect, it doesnt necessarily have any effect on Eric’s college eligibility and will more likely simply have some result on his Alabama high school state championship. But it does prolong the story and will lead to something that I think many of us in the general public would not want…a look into the work we did in high school.
It does bear mentioning that at this point, Bledsoe hasnt been accused of doing anything wrong, nor have any of his grades been found to be improper. In fact, the Superintendent says that he was confident in the earlier investigation of Bledsoe’s grades and that this would be “an investigation of the investigation” (how very meta of you). But with this news, the story also wont go away, as this keeps the media frenzy going forward.
