Eric Bledsoe may be on the move

Bledsoe 3 years

This collage was posted by @TeamBledsoe as a look back on his 3 years in the NBA

Let’s go ahead and make this a former-Cat-NBA-trade-talk evening on KSR, as the professional hoops rumor mill is churning hard post-draft. Looks like Eric Bledsoe has some teams chasing after him, including the Toronto Raptors now. Toronto joins the Orlando Magic and Detroit Pistons as potential destinations for this underrated point guard.

We all knew that Bledsoe was a steal heading into the draft, as John Wall was the talk of the nation despite UK’s slightly-shorter-yet-still-amazing other freshman guard being also primed for NBA success . He’s proven his worth in three years in the league, playing behind one of the nation’s best in Chris Paul for the L.A. Clippers.

ESPN is reporting that the Raptors are willing to shop Demar Derozan, but L.A. is apparently after Toronto’s Arron Afflalo as well. Bledsoe will also be looking to secure a contract extension before Halloween to add more years to his 3-year rookie deal.

Bledsoe has incredible value in the league as a backup PG, but I think he’s ready to break out from behind Paul’s shadow and star on his own.

Looks like Bledsoe is currently on campus in Lexington, by the way.

Which would give the pistons what 14 guards on their team?

Arron Afflalo plays for the Orlando Magic.

I think I like the Raptors deal better for the Clips. Would rather Bledsoe go to Magic for his sake, but Toronto is not a terrible situation. Both offer more playing time and a chance to earn a substantial pay raise.

His 3 year rookie deal would expire way before halloween since he’s already played 3 seasons.

More like a former Cal, not a former cat; I can’t fault him for that though. He’d be better off if he could stay with the Clippers. Paul’s probably not going to stick around which will land Bledsoe the starting role next season.
