Enes Kanter Wants to Show His Big Blue Love

rew

KSR has learned tonight that Enes Kanter has requested that Kentucky be part of his NBA Draft announcement following his selection on Thursday night. Kanter has requested that the NBA say that he is “Enes Kanter from Istanbul, Turkey and the University of Kentucky.” No word as of yet on whether the NBA has agreed to that description, but I guess we will all find out together on Thursday night.

Its good of Enes to want to be associated with UK and with the NCAA not part of the Draft process, hopefully his wish will be granted.

He spent a year in school here, so he’s a UK student.

4 sums it up. He’s a student-athlete at UK, just not an ncaa student-athlete. Go get ’em Ends and kick butt makin millions instead of kicking butt makin the ncaa millions (more).

Let’s royally piss off the NCAA and retire his jersey to Rupp’s Rafters.

He was also a student coach. He should be able to be linked to UK.

In todays day and age you cant say this about many guys. But, despite Kanter coming to UK one year and never stepping foot on a court and still ends up being a draft pick I still think It hurts him as much as It did us that he didnt get to suite up for the Big Blue. I almost would have forfeited a game (even an exhibition) to give him that opportunity. But then the NCAA would probly try to vacate the entire existence of UK Basketball.

The NCAA future ruling will be that this NBA draft never happened and that any fan, staffer, media person, and so on that recognizes it will be punished by death.

    This is very troubling.

We don’t have any control over what Kanter or the NBA say, but UK better not ever list Kanter as a former UK player. We’re already working on the letter.

    The NCAA

I’m against hanging a Kanter jersy from the rafters at Rupp. BUT I am for hanging the President of the NCAA from the rafters…now that ought to get us a letter today!!

Do you think if the NCAA lets Enes say he’s from UK, that they’ll make us vacate some of our draft statistics: “For the 2010 NBA draft, UK can only claim 4 players drafted instead of 5.”?

I hope this kid becomes All-Pro and continues his education at UK…a total failure on the part of the NCAA in banning this kid while letting Josh Selby play (and tout him as the student-athlete…get real)
