Many believe that the Cats are a favorite for Emmanual Mudiay, the 2014 point guard considered to be the third best player in his class by Rivals and ESPN. Mudiay is doing a diary for USA Today, and in the latest installment, cleared up some of the rumors surrounding his recruitment. Here are a few excerpts:
On the recent problems at Prime Prep: “Oh and I want everyone to know that everything is good with Prime Prep too. We’ve met about everything and everything is cleared up so everything is fine academically. I guess there’s some source saying things, but we’re fine with the NCAA. Trust me, my boys Jordan (Mickey) and Karviar (Shepherd) will be fine to play next season. You’ll see.”
On visiting Kentucky for Big Blue Madness: “Most of you may already know that I’ve decided to go visit Kentucky for Big Blue Madness. I’m definitely excited about that. My Twitter has been blowing up with their fans hitting me up. I think they even have a countdown and everything so I know it’s gonna be really fun.
I think Stanley (Johnson) and Devin (Booker) are gonna be visiting that same weekend so it’ll be good to hang out with them.”
On playing with 2014 center Myles Turner at the next level: “I’ve also been talking to my boy Myles Turner lately about maybe teaming up in college. We’re from the same area and we both want to win right away so it makes sense. Myles is a great player, but people just didn’t know about him. Now they’re seeing how good he really is.”
On rumors he’s a Kentucky lock: “I know there are a lot of rumors out there that I’m definitely going to Kentucky, but I’ve never said that. I’m giving everyone a real look.”
