The Cats will have another visitor over the next two weeks who could be part of the 2010 class. Eloy Vargas, who played his Freshman season at Florida and then transferred to Miami-Dade Community College is going to visit UK according to Rivals.com’s Jerry Meyer. Meyer says that Vargas has three final schools, Arizona, Seattle and UK and he is not going to make a decision until he can visit Kentucky’s campus. Vargas averaged 25 points a game and 15 rebounds at Miami-Dade and can be a force down low.
I saw Vargas a number of times in high school and UK recruited him at that time. When on, he can be a top-level player. His time at Florida didnt work out, but all indications are that he was a stud last season. Vargas would get playing time at UK next year and is probably more polished immediately than the other possibilities UK has, outside of Terrence Jones.
