Elliott Porter dumps UK for his ex

In what was a strange recruiting saga last year, Kentucky came away with a three-star defensive tackle just prior to the season starting as Elliott Porter was left hanging by LSU coaches, who had taken too many commitments.  Porter jumped to Lexington, where he redshirted last season.  Now, he’s jumped again.  According to Shea Dixon of LSU’s Scout.com site, Porter has enrolled at LSU for the spring semester, bringing his UK career to an end after exactly zero snaps.  While this is apparently all fine and good by NCAA rules, the situation will likely have a stinky odor to it for Cats fans, who enjoyed the rare football surprise in the fall when Porter picked UK over Oregon, Texas A&M and Tennessee in his second round of recruiting.

The Cats play in Baton Rouge October 1.  Les Miles will surely wish he was in Ann Arbor.

It’s not surprising. This is one of the drawbacks you get when Operation Win is a complete failure and you have a LOSING season. Thankfully, Joker made a good move and hired Minter as that accuisition may have saved his future here.

He was’nt good enough to receive a scholarship the first go around with LSU, and his feelings were hurt. They wanted him to walk-on. Then it was homesickness. Probably even more to his saga. Let’s see if he ever hits the field for the Bayou Bengals.

Hey…. maybe we are on to something here? Cal shares a few B-ball players with Trent Johnson, and Les loans a few football players to Joker. Everybody wins! (….bout they only way we catch a 4 or 5 star football recruit)

Wonder what the re-initiation process is like for a guy who says “F Y’all” and jets for another team, only to return to the same team one day with his tail tucked?

    Scary thought.

Other recuits are going to bail too. I’ll bet Jon Davis of Eastern goes elsewhere too. When these top recuits see someone as awesome as Cobb used as little as he was (I still can’t get over the 8 touches), the boring offense, the weak defense, they’ll bolt if they can.

As lousy as our defense was this year I wish him luck on ever getting on the field for LSU.

It doesn’t cease to amaze me the merry-go-around and indecisiveness with college kids the last few years, no matter what the sport.

Makes ya wonder did they have a tough time settling on an X-Box or PS3 and how many returns the parents had to make growing up.

Oh & Beeze…what does that last sentence mean?
…”The Cats play in Baton Rouge October 10. Les Miles will surely wish he was in Ann Arbor.’…

I don’t get it. Miles facing “us” surely won’t make him wish he was anywhere else. Unfortunately, he will have our number next year -no matter who suits up for him.

I hope he never takes a snap at LSU either. I don’t want him injured, I just hope he is passed by while at LSU. This was a complete slap in Joker’s face. He gets screwed by LSU, then goes there anyway?

STFU you bunch of whiners. His going back to LSU ain’t got nothing to do with what our team did or didn’t do this year. He’s one of those kids that doesn’t know what the hell he wants to do, it was a concern with the LSU staff from the start. So can you at least put your mutany planning off until spring practice?

Correction- they play in Baton Rouge on the first of October. You almost made me very paranoid as I’ve got a group of people going down to watch the debacle and some of them already requested the time off…

So is he going back to LSU as a walk on? If so that is just plain dumb, going back to a school that forgot you existed. Now if he is really homesick, then its good he left or he wouldn’t be giving it his all.
