University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

Dublin, Ohio’s Darius McDonald commits to the Cats (UPDATED)

UK commit Darryl Long just sent out a congratulatory tweet to Darius McDonald for committing to Kentucky tonight; the commitment was confirmed by 247 Sports’ Josh Edwards. McDonald is an unranked athlete from Dublin, Ohio listed at 5’8”, 165 lbs. with a 4.4 40-yard dash.

Can we get a ‘Yahtzee!’ from the staff?!

UPDATE:

No ‘Yahtzee!’ from the staff means no official commitment.

This really softens the blow of the Wiltjer transfer. Just kidding. Not at all.

Why offer someone that small and who is unranked? I mean yeah Tavon Austin is 5’8, but he got more meat on his bones and is faster.

Gotta trust the staff. You can never have enough speed. Welcome aboard, Darius!

@4 I suppose your right. But if we have a true lack of depth of receiver they should have steered clear.

He was the running back MVP at the Cincinnati 5 Star Camp in 2012.

I can’t say anything bad about him honestly, a childhood friend of mine Greyshirted from here in LaRue under joker, hopefully he earns some playing time this year as well, god knows we need his size on the o-line.

Just like Tyre Brady this is not happening. Just a kid fishing for an offer.

    Not true! No offer.

Not saying anything bad about kid cuz haven’t seen him play, but need to verify stuff before posting stuff like this. Kid DOES NOT have an offer and isn’t committed to the Cats. Got started with a couple tweets and boom several sites say he has committed.

Tyre Brady is different. He has an offer but conditions need to be met. Could be part of class in end. This guy doesn’t have an offer right now. Did good at our camp though and who knows down the road but not right now. Just a sign of how many players are excited about the new era of UK football and want to get on board.

“No Yahtzee” is Drew’s way of saying that Justin Rowland tweeted out the news that this kid does not have an offer and is not committed.

Wrong again… come on ksr… I know you got some plants over on HOB forum… just give it 5 min…

    Justin Rowland:

Apparently he visited UK, believe he even camped. He was told that the staff liked what he brought to the table, but it was never an offer. Not even close. In fact, he wasn’t even high on the radar. We had never mentioned him before. In fact, about two weeks ago I removed a “Kentucky offer” from his profile because we knew he did not have an offer. Based on what I was told tonight I am surprised the kid even tried that because there really wasn’t enough love from UK to misconstrue it as an offer.

I go to darius’s school amd he is all around great athlete. Don’t let his size fool you, he is better than our other RB/FB recruit going to Ohio State. He clocks in at a 4.29 40 yard Dash. Watching him on friday’s you know he is going to be a star.

Ridiculous that this gets posted. Can we do a little research before posting a damn article about Urkel committing? MJ ruining recruiting. You don’t always have to be the first son.
