Drew Barker still hasn’t notified either school
According to our own Matt Jones, Drew Barker still hasn’t notified the coaching staffs at South Carolina or Kentucky of his decision. With only an hour and a half until he announces, the four-star QB sure is keeping his cards close to his chest.

He is coming to UK. He grew up a UK fan. He can quickly come in and compete for playing time since he already has an understanding of Neal Brown’s system. Stoops and Co have shown the kid more love than he could have ever expected since taking over for the joke. He is going to look good in BLUE and WHITE!
Because Mr. Barker is going to continue the tradition of Kentucky boys playing Kentucky QB.
There is a starting spot available at USC and at KY he would have to compete w/ 3 guys (one of whom seems to be his friend) for 2 years. He may be a UK fan, but sitting on the bench (or putting his friend on the bench) for two years vs starting his freshman or sophmore year at SC where he will be the annointed one from day 1 seems like a no-brainer.
South Carolina because he wants to play the villain to the HERO card that the Stoops regime has been playing. This is part of his diabolical plan. He will be the Joker to our Batman for the next 4 yrs.

Neither school is going to burst his bubble. Of course they are going to tell Matt they know nothing.
Kentucky because he realized at the spring game that he can beat out all the QB’s currently on the roster.
I think UK because of the way Mark Stoops is trying to rebuild the program and that Barker will fit right in with Neal Brown’s offense.

I think he is going to look and see if the BBN shows up. If the do, then he picks the Cats and if they don’t then he will pick SC. That is why he invited the crowd. He said himself that he Facebook message every coach about himself. He wants the attention, that is all he cares about.

He picks Kentucky because he is one of us. I can see UK with Barker competeing with the big boys in the SEC before he leaves. I think he sees that too.

Better coach, better talent, better opportunity to shine. Really a no brainer.
You would have to have big testicles to announce for South Carolina after all this time and attention.
He has his senior season left to play in KENTUCKY…why would he subject himself to all the hate and ridicule of folks by setting them up to disappoint.
I’m with Matt, had he wanted to leave the state, he would not have put out an open invitation to the public…

I live in Columbia,SC and trust me. If barker goes to SC he will in no way be the starter. After Conner shaw leaves they will have Dylan Thompson, them after him it’s Conner Mitch who people say is the best one of the 3. So barker to Uk!!!!!!!!
@21, I see your point. However, Kyle Bolin committed to the dirty birds prior to his senior season and played that entire year at Lexington Catholic, in the heart of Wildcat Country. Some kids enjoy the ridicule.

Didn’t his coach play at UK ? Would he let him do it this way if it wasn’t going to be Ky?
