Matt, you HAVE to talk about the charges/blocks calls that are ruining college basketball. Refs are lazier than ever and seem to make anything outside the arc an automatic charge. An offense like UK is hurt even more by this due to the aggressive/driving nature of the DDMO.

In high school sports in kentucky a coach can scratch up to 10% of the local high school referee roster. In college, there are no scratches. This eliminates coaches being able to buddy up with certain officials. Also, when team A scratches a certain official, Team B goes to that official and kisses up to him and it creates a bad situation where rumors start flowing around that Referee A is Forida’s boy etc. This is why they went to that. It also prevents coaches from having the power to black ball certain officials from working post season etc.

Matt, the MLK post is very intelligent and cleverly written, but unfortunately not exactly the type of thing that most of this site’s demographic will understand/appreciate.

It’s smart comedy (kind of like the old Office) and most people just don’t get it.

Xavier and UC has had a large impact on Kentucky. Every game that Kentucky plays is a “rivalry” game. So now every game is going to be called close and tick tack fouls… so it doesn’t get out of hand? Every game since then… without the Loyola,Lamar, and ARKLR, the Xavier/UC has been mentioned to prevent anything from getting out of hand. Ridiculous.
