Director of UK Football Administration resigns

This is a very tiny picture.

Breaking news! David Armstrong, the director of football administration for UK, has resigned to “pursue other opportunities,” according to university spokesman Tony Neely. Armstrong has worked at UK since April 15, 2011 and his primary duties included assisting recruiting coordinator Chuck Smith.

Sounds like a smart guy to me. Anyone who leaves the UK football program would obviously be headed to a “better opportunity”. Guy is getting out before this pitiful program goes 3-9 and all hell breaks loose.

    A) The beginning of the end. Joker can’t be far behind.

    B) Just wanted to nab that McDonalds job before Joker began looking for a “better opportunity.”

    C) Pretty sad that ole boy doesn’t want the ’12 season on his resume. Gonna be a bunch that want to leave it off.

    D) Wish it was our AD resigning instead.

This is just the start of it all. I have no idea who this guy is, but I guarantee there cant be that many great oppotunities for a assisted recruitment coordinator for Divison 1 footbll teams. Athough, maybe Tee Martin needed some help at USC.

He really is the fall guy for not having a recruit pay to stay in a dorm for an UNofficial visit…which won’t be a major deal but Sandy Bell wants to keep the even slightly dirty out

oh snap-That’s right, you want to get rid of one of the top ADs in the country. Mitch Barnhart has brought the quality of our sports programs up by leaps and bounds, but you can’t see it. Are you one of the ones that was screaming for Rich Brooks’ head? If you can’t see how complicated the problems the football program has are because of our laws, our lack of talent in the state, etc., then you are blind.

#3 calls it best. Anyone with talent jumps off the ship early. Only rats and the captain goes down with ship.

#9–quit drinking the Barnhart Kool-Aid and learn the facts. Barnhart brought in Gillispie and almost destroyed the basketball program. The football program is basically destroyed now after his move to hire Joker (the cheapest coach he could find). The alums had to push him and Todd aside in order to bring in Calipari, whom they both opposed. Barnhart is barely competent at being an AD let alone in a major athletic conference. Calipari barely speaks to him and he has been banned from having anything to do with basketball (thank God).

9 – As a parent of an UK athlete in an Olympic sport, I am proud of his accomplishments, but not many people at any university really care passionately about any sports other than Men’s Football and Basketball, and that is by what an AD is judged. Do you have a link to the ranking of all ADs in the country? I would like to see where Mitch ranks. Thanks. And Rich Brooks was 7-28 against the SEC East during his 7 years, with 5 of those wins against Vanderbilt. Citing Rich Brooks is not much of a testament to Mitch Barnhart’s capabilities.

Barnhart is not nearly as bad as people want him to be. The guy has done a good job, but just needs to find a way to help the football program out. Its a big black eye.

#11…you made up a bunch of crap.
    #12 – Brooks won more than 7 SEC games…

    11) the Realist, is correct!
UK as a whole is in serious financial trouble.
SEC football and Bball are the only $ makers.

I am ready and rested when called. I will be a team player and be on my best behavior. I will sign a 30 Million buy out and will beat Louisville every year and have UK in a bowl game every year. Any thing else?

It makes you wonder why they need all these people. How much does a guy make for assisting the recruiting coordinator? And does he have an assistant? Lol Just keep blowing money while your football team sucks each and every year. Thanks for helping the recruiting coordinator bring in all those 1 & 2 star athletes, buddy! Couldn’t of done it without ya.

13 – Brooks was 7-28 against the SEC East, including 0 and 7 against Florida, South Carolina, and Tennessee. He was 2 and 5 against Georgia. Not much to brag about.
