Maybe I am making a mountain out of a molehill with this, and frankly I don’t really care that much, but the UK athletic store is promoting the shirt above after the win over South Carolina. Now I understand that it was a big win for the recovery of this season, but in the history of the program, this win ranks nowhere near the Top 10 in importance. Despite the fact it was against a 10th ranked team, I would argue the win was no more important than the Georgia or Auburn wins from last season.
But the bigger question is what does it say about the program when we are generating merchandise after wins like the one over South Carolina? To me, and I am just being picky, you generate merchandise for titles, whether conference or national, or HUGE games like beating #1 LSU. Fans of other SEC schools have to find it a little humorous we hype up that win when they would call it just another Saturday.
On a side note, go ahead and purchase the shirt and help out the UK budget. Maybe it will buy a better speaker system at Commonwealth.
