As we move slowly into football season around these parts, evaluating what team the Cats will put on the field is order number one. Jeremy Jarmon will be around in the next 48 hours with his running back breakdown, but reports today from Larry Vaught suggest that Derrick Locke is confident he will be on the field when the season begins in September. Locke, whose torn ACL looked to potentially have him miss this season, may be the key to the offensive efficiency of the team as he provides the only real breakaway option for the Cats at the running back position. Locke tells Vaught that everything is progressing according to plan and that he will be ready to go when the first football is kicked into the air in Cincinnati.
Phil Steele has Locke ranked as one of the top 40 Running Backs in America. This has the potential to be his breakout season….lets hope he stays healthy enough to see it materialize.
