Are there enough lockers In the locker room at Rupp for all our star players and the guys like Hawkins, Willis, Lanter, Malone, and Long? One would think they would have built 15 lockers In the new one at Rupp because that Is the max number of players you can suit up.
Just went and checked the video at CoachCal.com and there are actually 16 lockers In the new custom players locker room. 7 on the left and 9 on the right side of the entry way.
All of the haters coming on here even before a player steps onto the court. I know a lot of people saying bad things about Scott Padgett before he played at UK. No one expected him to end up playing in the NBA now did they?
Willis is #35, so I guess all the guys have probably picked their numbers already I wonder what they choose… I assume the returning players kept their numbers so heres what I got so far:
Willis-35
Hood- 4
Polson- 5
Willie – 15
Alex – 22
Kyle- 33
Sam, Brian, Tod- no idea
I know one thing…he sure did pour me a nice iced tea at McAllister’s a few weeks ago. I told him good luck next season…he said thanks. I’m pretty sure we’re best friends.
26 Comments for Derek Willis has a locker
Is that a combination lock at the top built in for valuables? FANCY!!!
Derek Willis better appreciate this.
Must be a great feeling for a Kentucky kid. Good luck young man.
I found a uscjr. football playbook one of the players left behind at the baseball stadium here in columbia.
Gonna be the white Kevin Durant!!
I’m a 1986 Bullitt East graduate, so that is pretty darn cool seeing his locker at UK.
Where is this locker located at? It’s definitely not the new one is Rupp.
Back in 86 I could throw a pigskin a quarter mile
7) Probably at the Craft Center. It’s right next to the new Wildcat Lodge so he probably walked over after moving in to check it out.
7) it’s the Craft center! They have his name on a bench seat at Rupp right beside Hawkins.
La Dee Da!!!!!
Derek wish you well. You are a great addition to the Cats. Work hard everyday and and prepare yourself for an awesome upcoming year.
Welcome Derek, you have a bright future! You are home now!

I think the bigger story is the fact Tod Lanter still has a locker
Good luck young man. Keep working hard and good things will happen.

Very cool to see. This guy ought to be something special in a few years – needs to hit the weights and he’ll be one huge dude.
Last UK player that I remember wore #35 was Clarence Tillman in the ’78-’79 season.
Nope. Reggie Hansen wore #35
Ooops , you’re right
