Derek Anderson visiting Nerlens Noel

Derek Anderson meant business when he tweeted, “I’m headed to Kentucky NOW” earlier today.  Anderson just sent out this photo with Nerlens minutes ago.

If you recall, Anderson missed most of his senior year at Kentucky with a torn ACL during the 1996-97 season, and still managed to play 13 years in the NBA — so he knows a thing or two about what Nerlens is going through right now.

It’s just like I said earlier. Nerlens is here for a reason, whether it be his own personal journey or a personal journey for someone following. Maybe him and Derek were destined to meet up. Lets face it, with Derek Anderson playing vs Az in championship game healthy, no doubt we would have won. Nerlens you got good company on your side. Pitino made the right call not playing him. Nerlens, whether the NBA is in your future or not, I just want you to know, you made a fan out of a 47yr old UK fan. Your future is bright regardless.

Can you imagine a front court of Nerlins, Willie and Dakari next season with the 6 foot 5 Harrison Twins at guard? Cheer up guys and girls. Patience. We be uninflatable next season.

NERLENS will return stronger than ever. Also, are people in the comments section purposely misspelling NERLENS name all the time, or are they just that dumb? C’mon people it’s not that difficult… N-E-R-L-E-N-S

Nerlens will be in the NBA next year with huge guaranteed money. All is well.

For those (way to) many that think he will be back at UK next year just don’t understand.

    Smooth sailing, Nerlens!

    22) I’m not usually into the whole grammar police thing, but the whole “Nerlins” thing annoys the hell out of me. Don’t these people read his name on this website and on television all the time??

A shout out to D.A., thank you for being so generous of spirit to come over and give Nerlens some of your wisdom. You were a very good example of what being a Kentucky basketball player can give to kids that need that little extra push when you were a 9th grade mentor for me at Henry Clay High School. Thank you for remaining that good example of giving back.

All the best to you D.A and Nerlens,
    Suzie S.

Sorry Depressed Cat, we will win the national championship next season. The players we have signed up aren’t like these guys this season. They don’t have the killer instinct this time or even sound fundamentals. Guys we got comin in will consider it a loss if they win by less than 20 points.

Nerlincz is are already an all-time favorite. Loved the hustle, determination, and will. Got better with every game and tried his best to carry this very young team that needed someone to carry it. Loved wathing DA back in his day as well – he continues to build his legacy by proving what a great all-around person he is. And yes, I mis-spelled the name on purpose just for kicks.

Was posted earlier today on Draft Express that Nerlens stock in the NBA is as high today as it was yesterday. Still from 1-5 Draft pick. This guy deserves it. Big heart, big motor n big person. Hope we get several more like him in the years to come. I also hope once he leaves that he remembers his days at UK to be as good as Derek Anderson has. He showed big time class today but he was also a big time player.

Two class acts- DA & Nerluns. This just shows you how much the program means to our alumni. Nerlins is in great hands with a mentor like Derick Anderson. No doubt Merlins has heard from several other former players today. With his work ethic and positive attitude, Nerlenz has a tremendous future no matter where he plays next year.
    Go Cats!
