DeAndre Liggins, Jorts Win Final Roster Spots

It’s official: DeAndre Liggins and Josh Harrellson have teams for the NBA season. Liggins will be playing this season for the Oklahoma City Thunder after the team waived Andy Rautins, Hollis Thompson, and fellow former cat Daniel Orton. In five preseason games, Liggins started twice and 4.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.4 steals while playing around twenty minutes per game. While his scoring wasn’t especially prolific, he was a consistent wing player and impressed the OKC staff with his defensive tenacity and ability to impact the game in ways besides scoring. Jorts, meanwhile, will be partying in the city where Heat is on, all night, on the beach, til the break of dawn. Jorts was believed to have been competing with Garrett Temple and Terrel Harris for the final roster spot; Temple was waived today, and Harris was signed along with Harrellson.

On a sadder note, Jamaal Magloire was waived by the Toronto Raptors, although there’s a shot the organization will create a spot for him on the staff, mixing coaching with community work. The coaches have admired his knack for connecting with younger big men and acting as a mentor and want to continue to use him in the organization.

Should we end this with a monster block by Anthony Davis? Sure, why not.

Gotta say that I am glad that the Thunder went with Deandre. Hell of a player who left early for the right reasons (support a child), as opposed to Daniel Orton who pretty much did everything wrong in his departure.

Yes I’m glad he got cut, AND I HOPE HE BURNS HELL! Orton did everything wrong in his departure and now I hope all the bad things in life happen to him and only him. How dare a 19 year make a mistake, god knows I was flawless at that age.

I’d love to go egg Daniel Orton’s house right now

Very happy for Jorts and DeAndre. It sounds like they are working hard to earn their spots. I hope Daniel Orton has some success in life, despite what he did at Kentucky.

Easy, cats fans. For Jorts and Deandre to make NBA money another year, hopefully longer, is reason to rejoice. But it’s wrong to gloat that Orton was cut.

“Caption this” for the first pic. Cat fans would have a field day on a picture like this with any other team but their own.

This will give Orton time to finish his classwork.

I wish no bad things on Orton but this will hopefully serve as lesson to put the work in upfront to reap the rewards later.

Congrats to Jorts and DeAndre…two examples of putting in the work needed to reap the rewards! Have a great season guys!

OKC has all the scoring they will ever need . Liggins does everything that team needs. He may very well have found a home for the next 6-8 years. Anybody who watched them in the finals knows he will fill a big void for that team and make a huge impact with out even scoring a point. He sure has came along way from refusing to go in to a collage game.

I’m excited for these guys, really I am, but does DeAndre have to show his excitement by dry humping Jorts’ pelvic region?!?

On a serious note, Congratulations guys, you all truly deserve the opportunity! Now go out there and take whats yours… It’s great to see so many Cats in the NBA.
