Different “Big Three”…

In his latest recruiting roundup over at ESPN (Insider only!), Dave Telep says he feels good about the Cats’ chances of landing one of the remaining “Big Three” in 2013, Andrew Wiggins, Aaron Gordon and Julius Randle:

“A month ago, I didn’t think UK was going to add another stud. Now, I’m guessing they get one out of the ‘Big 3.'”

Smart thinking, Dave.

most interesting part of that article is the wiggins selection…telep says he’s hearing whispers that FSU’s season is playing into Wiggins decision. telep doesnt usually say much unless there is some truth to it…which can only mean good things for the cats.

So what if Randle picks UK on the 20th? Does that mean we should just give up hope on Wiggins?

I hope we get Stalin. That’s what the current team is lacking – toughness.

Dave Telep actually says this “Now, I’m guessing they get one out of the “Big Three” of Wiggins, Randle and Gordon, but no telling which one it is — though Gordon remains unlikely. ” So it’s a little more clear he is referring to Wiggins or Randle.

These experts who thought we wouldn’t get any of them… Do they just not realize that the only 4 we having coming back is Wiltjer, so Randle and Gordon could easily start. As for the 3, we’d be happy starting Young, but Wiggins would start if he comes. Why is it so hard to believe these guys would still come to our loaded roster?

I’ve got fingers crossed we get Randle/Gordon and Wiggins.

    4) Ultimately, if you want a chance to win a title, you come here, UNC, Duke, somewhere like that. Sure, you could go be a hero somewhere else, but we’re almost a sure thing for a title next year.

    11) He’ll probably revise his report on March 19th when Randle’s decision leaks one way or another.

@ 8. How can you say that. All the experts I’ve read say that Churchill is clearly better in the post.

IMO getting Randle will only help UK secure a Wiggins commitment.

Are we still pre season number one without any of the big three?

Since FDR is crippled, I’m going to pass on him. Churchill to Rick Pitino– “Sir, I may be drunk, but you’re a bastard. And tomorrow, I’ll be sober, but you’ll still be a bastard.”

@14 – Churchill may be a better post player, but I’m counting on Cauley-Stein returning. Stalin can play the small forward. He would complement Randle perfectly. With Joe’s toughness they would be unstoppable. Who’s going to mess with a guy who had his own son shot?

@18 – Good call on FDR. That’a why I didn’t want him. And we sure don’t a drunk on next year’s squad. It’s clear. We need Joe.
