University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

Darius Miller on uniforms, Tennessee and coming off the bench…

Darius Miller was available to the media yesterday before practice and he had a few things to say about the new Nike Hyper Elite Platinum uniforms, his role as sixth man, and playing Tennessee for the ninth time in his career at Kentucky.

Have a read:

On the new uniforms …
“I think we’re all excited to wear them. I mean they’re pretty nice uniforms and to be able to get something special like this, I mean it feels good to be a part of something like that.”

On how he’s playing the last couple games …
“I’m just trying to be more aggressive — that’s all. My teammates did a great job of getting me open looks and I’m trying to take advantage of all the opportunities that I have.”

On this year’s Tennessee team compared to other Tennessee teams in the past …
“They’re pretty good. They play extremely hard and extremely physical — maybe more physical than some of the past Tennessee teams. They have a lot of guys who are strong and they use their body really well, so we’re going to have to come out and do a good job and be prepared for that. We’ve been doing better playing against physical teams, so hopefully we negate that tomorrow like coach has been talking about and have a good game.”

On if they’re playing their best basketball of the season …
“We feel like we’re playing pretty good basketball, but we know we have a long way to go to be a championship team. We have a lot of stuff we need to work on, we still have defensive breakdowns; we still need to work on executing sometimes on offense. I mean we’re not where we need to be, but we’re at a good point for where it is in the season.”

On if he’s comfortable being the sixth-man now …
“I never had a problem with it honestly. I mean I’m still having the same opportunities as everybody else. I still feel like I’m a part of the team — a big part of the team. So I mean whether he starts me or brings me off the bench, I could care less.”

Darius does get it. He is so humble and leads by example. Coming off the bench is something that would upset a lot of players, but he still gets it done, still comes in and makes a difference. That is why UK loves him

Darius is orbiting Cal’s lunch pale in the hopes of being part of the bologna sandwich, not the dessert! His attitude is loud and proud. He just needs to gobble up the pudding now…..

    Go Cats!

What we often forget is that Darius has been playing well every since last year when Calipari was pushing Harrelson, Liggins, and Miller to step their games up. He has been more consistent every since then and has never looked back.

Darius seems to be motivated by his UK career coming to an end. You couldn’t ask for a more selfless team player. His focus and level of aggression in the next 2 months will simultaneously dictate how far this team will go and what kind of career he’ll have at the next level.

If you have been to a live game, no one gets a bigger “POP” from the crowd than when Darius is introduced in the starting line-up’s. It’s noticeably louder than anyone else…gives me goosebumps!

He is the X factor for our #8.

    18) youre wrong. just because everyone misspeaks when they say it doesnt make it right. the saying is inferring that you care less about that than anything else. So if you say “i could care less” in that context you are contradicting yourself. heres a good example for you. “i COULDNT care less if you think youre right about this”

  30. pioneer
    1:59 pm January 31, 2012 Permalink

Who cares about a saying or if it is used correctly. We are not editors of the NY Post. Geeze

  31. CatsfaninFL
    1:59 pm January 31, 2012 Permalink

#18) Except you are wrong. If you “could care less” that means you can actually care more and it therefore has an effect on you. Meanwhile if you “could not care less” there is nothing less that you could care about, i.e. what you should say in this instance.

However, personally, I could not care less what gets said here. Everyone knows what you mean whether you say could or could not… plus it’s fun to see grammar hounds get their panties in a wad.

#34 – if you’re wanting to stay on property I’d suggest ESPN Zone on “The Boardwalk” which is adjacent to the Yacht and Beach Club near Epcot.

You may also want to ask about the Wide World of Sports complex. I would guess there will be something going on there as well.

If you going to be off property for the game I really don’t have any suggestions.
