Darius Miller doesn’t want your beads, fruity drinks or parades

One thing has been clear since players from all four teams opened their mouths after reaching the Final Four: Kentucky is the most focused. And that’s not to take anything away from Louisville, Kansas, or Ohio State, but UK players just have that look in their eyes. They want it. You won’t hear the Cats talking about being happy to be in New Orleans or how cool it is to be playing in the Superdome. No, Kentucky’s players are talking about winning it all. That’s it.
Matt and I saw Jared Sullinger and his teammates out on Bourbon St. last night at about 10:00; Louisville’s players were allowed out until 11:00. There is nothing wrong with that — this is the biggest weekend of their lives and they should enjoy it — but you won’t see Darius Miller taking pictures with street magicians or drinking a strawberry daiquiri outside Fat Catz.
UK isn’t here for the sideshows.
Kentucky is here for a banner.
“The first day (Wednesday) we kind of went out a little bit. We didn’t really stay out too long,” Darius admitted to reporters. “Then after that, it has been business. We’re not here to have fun or party or anything like that. We’re trying to win a championship. ”
This team is focused, motivated, and determined to win it all. You can see it in their eyes or hear it every time they speak.
Only time will tell if they reach their goal.
Let’s get it.

GOD THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS TEAM!
I like our guys focused. I think us going to NOLA for the SEC helped because they did go out during that and got it out of their system. But it also helps I think for several players having been to the final four last year, we may be young, but we are experienced.
EYES ON THE PRIZE!!
Darius hits the game winner tomorrow … well at least the shot that puts us up 76-56
SO PROUD TO BE A KENTUCKY FAN!!! LOVE THESE GUYS!!! GO CATS!!!
These kids know there will be plenty of time to celebr8 l8r…
Simply Outsdtanding. This is what makes all of us proud.
Outstanding…oops
Expect the whistle to be tight
What number 1. and number 5. said, times ten!!!
The Quarter is nice every few years I suppose. The longer you hang out there, the less you notice the reek of stale urine. Glad they are focused. I can’t wait to celebrate for them.
Tight whistles are to our favor. We’ve shot 300 more ft than our opponents and hit 245 more than them, with 150 fewer fouls
Anybody have a link to matt on clay travis show?
From Prague, glad to hear that the CATS are ready to take care of business.
UK is on a mission to win it. Darius, Doron and Terrence did not like the taste of that loss last year. Darius also remembers the WVU loss. Even if the freshmen might be a little nervous, the vets are here to win the title.
Greeny on Mike and Mike keeps arguing that it’s more important for UK and UL fans to win this game than the title. What that fool doesn’t understand is that while we don’t want to lose to Louisville ever, right now, they’re just the team between us and 8. Most of our players don’t care that it’s Louisville. They don’t hate Louisville. They just want the title. Any UK fan that cares more about beating Louisville than winning the championship needs to examine their priorities. Beating Louisville, even in the Final Four, pales in comparison to winning any title, let alone #8 after this long wait. Losing to Louisville matters more as the end of the season than a loss to a rival.
15. mike and mike are idiots.
Chris Smith must D.I.E
Joe B. Hall, 1978, responding at the post-championship celebration to the writer and others who said UK wasn’t having any fun in the tournament:
“Notre Dame had fun!”
The roof was raised when he said that!!!
This should calm any Cats fans nerves. The UK players are focused and UL’s players are talking smack just like the fans. Ive heard so many “UL will win by 40” and “UL’s press and defense will wear UK down” comments that all I do is smile and think…..”do they have any idea what is coming”. What they dont take into account is UK has experienced the dome sight lines in the final four and last year no team shot well. So with it being hard enough for UL to get to 50 points, the dome is only going to hurt them more.
Just dropped $100 at Fan Outfitters. Ready to go. GO CATS!
Focused
Being “too serious” like last year can lead to an early exit from the Final 4. Just ask Brandon Knight and company. Wheras being laid back and having fun is what it’s all about. Have fun UK and bring us home #8.
19. i dont think a single person ever said UL by 40.
Only parade Darius is interested in will be in Lexington on Tuesday.
23- im not talking about media or Vegas. I have heard multiple UL fans say UL will win by 40 and another predict a score of 80 to 45 in UL’s favor. Im not making this crap up. Hell. Havnt u heard Chane and C. Smith talking. All UL ‘people’ are peas in a pod. Even some fans they interviewed on the radio live in NOLA were trying to say the shear number of UK fans didnt have nothing on the following of UL. And I reiterate….THESE THINGS WERE REALLY SAID ON THE RADIO. Now Drew Deener did hang up on the one that said UL 80 UK 45 right away
I have to believe that the experience in the final four last year will be to the advantage for Miller, Lamb and Jones.
Bring on the Cards, lets get this in the record books!!! GO CATS!!!
Watching preparing for a championship on ESPNU. Four looser coaches who have all been fired because they sucked at coaching. How can a Coach go 2 and 14 in his league and be an expert on Basketball for ESPN? The other day Darin Horn was asked how do you beat KY and he told them! What’s wrong with that picture? Have they been in a cave all season? After you get past Dickie, Hubert, Jay and sometimes Jimmy ESPN’s experts suck!
Go Cats!
28) Jay Bilas may be a Dukie but I would rather listen to him than any other commentator that ESPN employees. When he talks you should listen and put creed into what he is saying. Dickie V is all a publicity stunt, Hubert is OK but he is a little goofy sometimes. Jimmy Dykes tries to be like Dickie V. He tries to come up with all these catch phrases but they never catch on. He just keeps repeating them hoping that they will though.
I think Miller is going to come out and rack up some serious points tomorrow night. Hes got the eye of the tiger.
Agree that the Cats are focused. But could also be because they’ve already been to NOLA once this year. They did go out then. The rest of these teams haven’t been here yet. Which I think could be an advantage for the guys, they can concentrate on the games instead of being sidetracked by the beauty of New Orleans.
15 Glad someone else sees what a poor excuse Mike Greener is.
I am glad that the UK players and coaches went to have fun winning 2 basketball games. If they just play with the same focus that they have been playing with they will reach their goal.
Oh please let UK spank them tomorrow, hey I’ll take a close game, but a UK victory. I live in Louisville and have to listen to all the crap from UL fans, hell I’m married to one!!! I may not be able to go out of the house Monday if UL wins. I just want Drew Deener and those on the l1c4 station here in louisville to have to eat their, cards are more phys, pitiono is great, cards can wear UK out, lovin as* words!!
19, I thought they played the SEC Tourney in the smaller venue next to the dome, not in the dome itself.
Miller has been the man who has broke the press the last 3 UL games.Feel very good he will do it this time to.UK has gotten him the ball in the middle of the court when they trap. For all the talk of the Fresh.and Soph.on this team and rightfully so.Miller has really come up big this year.Cal has built a team that really complete each other.they all do their jobs well.
LETS GO CATS!! Like to see Kyle get in there and have a great game against UofL!!!
