The above picture was taken at the Campbellsville game on Monday night and makes me happy. A student in the student section snapped the shot and sent it in, proving that any picture of Alan Cutler is a great picture. I was talking with a woman in Louisville today who said this to me:
I like reading the Kentucky Sports Radio blog, but I have to tell you this. You young guys are too mean to Alan Cutler. He is a nice man and has been very nice to a lot of people. I hope you dont hurt his feelings.
That hit me very hard. Hurt the feelings of the Cutman? Is that even possible? I mean this is a guy who chases coaches with the speed of a middle-aged Usain Bolt, all while having the presence of mind to throw a little verbal jab in the process. Superman doesnt cry and Cutler’s feelings cant be hurt! In all seriousness, in case it isnt clear we at KSR love Alan Cutler. Anyone who combines the absurdity of his moustache with his extreme confidence is bound to be a favorite of the site. Plus, Alan has been very nice to us over the years and is really a good local reporter. So if we ever seem hard on Alan, it is only in the “we kid because we love” type of context. Cutler has done podcasts and blogs with us before and I am sure he will do them again.
So if you are worried about Alan’s feelings, dont. He is the Cutman…there is no crying in journalism and Alan Cutler doesnt feel pain.
