Cousy Award finalists announced; no Knight

The finalists for the Bob Cousy Award, given annually to the nation’s top point guard, were announced this afternoon and, unfortunately for those of you who had Brandon Knight in the office pool, he was not one of the five. Knight made the list of ten almost finalists, but couldn’t push through to make the final group. The five finalists are:
Jimmer Fredette, BYU
Nolan Smith, Duke
Jordan Taylor, Wisconsin
Kemba Walker, Connecticut, and
Norris Cole (whoever that is) , Cleveland State
Can’t argue too much with the selections, as I found out between the last line and this one that Cole averages 22 points and over five assists and scored in double figures in every game this year. The other four have had great seasons, and it is still an honor for Knight to get so close to making the final list of the country’s best point men.
Go Cats.

Go Cats!!!
Fredette sure doesn’t play like a point guard. Does this award factor in overall play or just scoring output?
Norris Cole is the same player as Jimmer, a high IQ shooter who is forced to play PG.
Norris Cole is a great player, I’ve watched him several times this year. You have to wonder if he could do what Knight does if he played at UK however.
Yeah, I doubt that Knight could have had what he has if he had been at Cleveland state…………………
…worried about Ole Miss…Warren shoots from deep and looked decent today.
Im sure cleveland state played some pretty stiff competition that would warrant the number put up by the young man to be effectively weighed against those who actually play teams anybody has heard of.
If Knight played for a school such as CS he most likely would be able to score anytime he wished.
not gonna lie….Norris Cole is the truth.
Knight will make more money in the NBA than all these guys combined.
We will bend Mississippi over. #6 Jim pull yourself together dude.
BBN in GA Dome: BLUE WHITE chant tomorrow with 4:00m left in 2H of ALABAMA game. Loud.
Kemba should get an award for “most carries in a game” he carries the ball 50 times a game especially when he drives to the basket.
10. True example of how Calipari is not only molding the players and program, but the fans as well. You guys are beginning to put aside NCAA awards for $$, draft picks and recruiting classes that go one and done.
That’s like saying ‘duke, unc, Michigan state and UConn are winning championships, but our players are going to make way more NBA money than them. Boom, roasted!’
Ha!
-10-really, who gives a crap about the nba? what’s your point?
#10 i dunno man, kemba walker is a pretty good player.
Pretty good honor as a freshman to get nominated in top 10. Knew he has no chance to win it but happy he got the mention. I just hope he comes back next year and wins it!!!
#14 Boom roasted? Where the hell did you pull that out from? From the back of your GED Certificate?
Unlike losers like yourself some people actually try to make money in their chosen profession.
Someone has to pay taxes so you can get your welfare checks.
#16 How many 5’11” point guards are in the NBA at the present time?
#15 I would bet more people than give a crap about you or your opinion.
If you had a f___ing brain my point would not have to be explained to you.
Knight may not win an award as best point guard in American, but I am willing to bet he has a higher IQ than 99.44% of sports board posters.
17, was thinking the exact same thing…
